PROVINCES,(ST)_Daily remarkable achievements are being notched up by units of the armed forces on the ground despite all forms of support being offered to the terrorists operating in the country.
On Saturday, the armed forces took control of Kafr Najd town in Idlib countryside, discovered a new tunnel in Barzeh suburb outside Damascus and thwarted terrorists’ bid to explode car bombs in Homs and Aleppo provinces.
According to the Syrian TV channel, units of the armed forces found a 150-meter tunnel south of Tishreen Hospital in Barzeh suburb and eliminated many terrorists in the same area and in Zamalka suburb.
They also destroyed a car loaded with weapons and munitions in Harasta suburb and mowed down an armed terrorist group near the Electricity Company in al-qabon suburb.
More terrorists were reportedly killed in a series of qualitative operations in Doma suburb and in Eastern Ghouta, Hajjira, al-Dyabeyeh, and Darayya areas.
Concurrently, a military source told SANA that an army unit destroyed a car bomb driven by a suicide bomber before reaching a residential alley in al-Hesn town in Homs province.
It added that two smuggling tunnels stretch between al-Qarabis quarter and Basatin al-Ghouta were shelled by another army unit.
“The tunnels were used by the terrorists to smuggle weapons to the old Homs city,” the source said.
These developments coincided with confiscating telecommunication devices and destroying heavy machine guns and anti-aircraft missiles in northern Aleppo province.
Aleppo prison
The armed forces, according to an official source, repelled al-Nusra Front-linked terrorists’ bid to explode two car bombs and a bulldozer at al-Hashem Mill before arriving at Aleppo central prison where another attempt to detonate an explosive device-weighing 30kg- was also repelled.
Actually, the terrorists lost a lot of their weapons not only in the above said areas but also in the surrounding of Meneg airbase and in the south-west and west-north Aleppo countryside as the armed forces targeted their groupings there.
An Unknown number of terrorists were hammered.
Several al-Nusra Front affiliates’ hideouts pounded
More losses were inflicted upon foreign-backed terrorists from al-Nusra Front outside Idlib, Hama, Lattakia and Daraa when the armed forces pounded several hideouts.
In a separate development, locals cooperated with an army unit in warding off terrorists’ attack on al-Sa’en town outside Hama and seized their weapons.
