Syrian Arab army mows down 20 terrorists in checkpoint attack, repels infiltration bid into Abo al-Dohor airbase

 

PROVINCES,(ST)_While units of the armed forces eliminate 38 terrorists in Hama and Aleppo provinces, several gunmen in al-Moaddameyeh area outside Damascus have surrendered their weapons and joined citizens in new evacuation process, according to media reports.

The official news agency reported today that at least 20 terrorists were mowed down in a clash that raged between an army unit and an armed terrorist group which tried to attack a checkpoint at the entry of Morek in northern Hama countryside.

A military source clarified that most of the terrorists killed in the clash were of Kuwaiti and Egyptian nationalities.

Other 18 terrorists were reportedly killed and 4 weapons-laden cars were destroyed in the surrounding of Aleppo central prison where military operations continued against foreign-backed terrorist groups.

The terrorist groups lost more weapons including rocket launchers and mortars in operations conducted on alNaqqarin-AlKastillo road in Aleppo province and in Duma and farms of Htaitet al-Terkman in Damascus countryside.

There were also a series of tailored operations in towns of Andan, Erbid, al-Jadedeh, Kweris outside Aleppo province and in al-Qalamon area outside Damascus as well as in suburbs of al-Qabon, Barzeh, and Jobar, just few kilometers to the north-east of the capital [Damascus].

Western Ghouta

An unknown number of terrorists died in the operations launched in the said areas and in Darayya city, around 10 km to the south-west of Damascus, where the armed forces hunted down terrorist groups on several axes.

The ringleader of the so-called military council in Darayya was injured, an official source said.

In another development, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel said that several gunmen in al-Moaddameyeh area, around 5 km to the west of Darayya city, surrendered their weapons and joined citizens in a new evacuation process.

Homs

Moving 160 km to the north Damascus, precisely in central Homs province, the armed warded off terrorists’ attack on al-Raqqa town near al-Waer quarter and wiped out terrorist groupings in quarters of al-Waer, al-Qarabis, al-Warsheh, al-Qosor and Joret al-Shayyah as well as in towns of al-Dar al-Kabira, Kesin, al-Ghasebeyeh, and Ein Hsien.

The same province (Homs) witnessed rocket and mortar attacks on alley of al-Mohajerin and al-Ber hospital in al-Waer quarter.

The rockets and shells, fired by terrorists, caused material damages at the scene. No casualties were reported.

Elsewhere

Back to results of today’s operations in other provinces, the Syrian TV channel confirmed the death of many terrorists when the armed forces obliterated hideouts in more than 30 areas in Idlib and Daraa provinces.

The TV channel added that the armed forces thwarted terrorists’ bid to sneak into Abo al-Dohor airbase- outside Idlib province- from northern, eastern and southern sides.

Meanwhile, Alikhbaria al-Soreyeh TV channel cited clashes in al-Jbeleh and al-Reshdeyeh areas in Der Ezzour province where at least 11 terrorists were eliminated.
