Syrian Arab army moves towards the heart of Eastern Ghouta, inflicts heavy losses upon terrorists

PROVINCES,(ST)_In the weeks to come, units of the armed forces are reported to impose full control on mountains and hills in  northern Lattakia countryside and on the heart of  Eastern Ghouta in Damascus countryside.

The Beirut-based al-Mayadeen T.V. channel reporter said today that the armed forces are moving towards a strategic site -Sheikh Nabhan Mountain- in  northern Lattakia countryside after tightening control over hills surrounding Eramo town.

A military source told the reporter: “It will be easy for the armed forces to control valleys after driving thugs out of the hills and mountains”.

al-Khameseyeh town under army’s control

The developments in Lattakia province came in sync with retaining full control over al-Khameseyeh town, around 4km to the north-east of Damascus International Airport, after wiping out all terrorist groupings.

A military source told SANA that the armed forces seized a big quantity of weapons and ammunitions and defused dozens of booby-traps planted by terrorists on the streets of the town.

The restoration of stability and security to al-Khameseyeh town comes a day after the armed forces took control of al-Qaryeh al-Shameyeh in  Eastern Ghouta.

False reports

On the other hand, an official source debunked Sky news channel report that claimed targeting a military convoy on Damascus International Airport road, stressing that it is “categorically untrue”.

‘al-Bara’a’ brigade’s ringleader eliminated

Another official source confirmed the death of Abo Ammar al-Loqis, ringleader of the so-called ‘al-Bara’a’ brigade and member of the so-called the military council in the Ghouta, during operations in al-Qabon suburb, just 3km away from the capital [Damascus].

It added that other operations were launched in several areas in  southern Damascus countryside [al-Dyabeyeh, al-Hseneyeh and Hajjira] where a lot of al-Nusra-Front affiliates were killed and injured.

14 terrorists died in yabroud

The source confirmed that 14 terrorists died when an army unit bombarded a hideout in Rima town in yabroud area, citing that anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) were destroyed in the western quarter in Zabadany city.

Meanwhile, the armed forces eliminated several armed terrorist groups, mostly from al-Nusra Front, and destroyed weapons-laden cars in Aleppo city and countryside.

Clashes in Aleppo

Some of the terrorist groups were mowed down in clashes  with the armed forces in quarters of Bestan al-Qasr, al-Zebdeyeh, al-Rashedin, and Bestan al-Bash.

While others reportedly perished when the armed forces shelled their hideouts in more than 13 towns in  northern, northwestern, and southeastern countryside.

In Idlib and Homs

An unknown number of terrorists were eliminated in the said areas.

The armed forces also bombarded two weapons-loaded cars on Ein al-Arous -alAmereyeh road in al-Msharfeh town.
