PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has launched a wide-scale operation on Adra al-balad axis in northern countryside of Damascus and has continued moving into the heart of Jobar quarter near Damascus, according to military sources.
The sources confirmed that Syrian army cordoned off the area of Adra al-Balad and recaptured several factories and buildings in it a few hours after it started the operation during which many terrorists were eliminated.
A 200-meter- long tunnel extending from Tal al-Swan into Adra al-Balad was discovered today by the army.
A military source declared that the army units targeted terrorist groupings in Tal al-Swan, al-Blaleyeh, Zamalka, Duma and Wadi Ein Tarma in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus.
At the same time, Syrian army made a fresh progress in Jobar quarter near Damascus as it recaptured strategic buildings there.
There were also military operations against terrorist groups in northern and eastern countryside of Hama where Syrian army advanced into several towns.
The operations coincided with clashes between Syrian army and terrorist groups in Sheikh Lutfi quarter in Aleppo city.
Many terrorists were reportedly killed and injured in the clashes.
Moreover, Syrian army destroyed a bomb-making factory for terrorist on the outskirts of Maaret al-Noaman in Idlib countryside and pounded a hideout for terrorist ringleaders in Jesr al-Shoghour in the same province.
Other hideouts and cars for terrorists outside Daraa and Homs were targeted by Syrian army.
Daesh-linked terrorists hospitalized in Turkey
On the other hand, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel reported that the ringleader of the so-called ‘Shohada’a al-Mothanna’ battalion which affiliates to the ‘Islamic Front’ was killed during clashes with the ‘State of Iraq and the Levant’ organization [ well known in Arabic as Daesh].
As many as 18 terrorists belonging to the organization of Daesh died in a battle with Kurds in northern edge of Syria.
The wounded Daesh-linked terrorists were admitted to hospitals in Turkey, al-Mayadeen TV channel said.
