Syrian Arab army makes fresh progress in Eastern Ghouta, hits ISIL sites in Raqqa

PROVINCES,(ST)_A fresh progress has been made by the Syrian army in Zebdin and Htitet al-Jarsh on the outskirts of Mliha town in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, as Syrian warplanes hit ISIL sites in Raqqqa.

According to media reports, the Syrian army recorded a fresh advance in the ongoing battle in Zebdin and Htitet al-Jarsh on the outskirts of Mliha town in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and inflicted heavy losses upon terrorists there.

The fresh advance synchronized with striking the ISIL sites near cultural center and Mal’ab al-Gas in Tabqa city in northwestern Raqqqa province where many terrorists were killed.

Some media reports said that as many as 18 foreign Jihadists, including an American, were killed during a strike on of the sites of the ‘Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ ISIL (Former name of the IS) near Raqqa.

Moreover, the Syrian army shelled sites of the so-called the ‘Islamic Front’ in Hanano and al-Hidareyeh areas in northern Aleppo province.

‘Shabab al-Huda’ brigade’s ringleader killed

There were also military operations against terrorist groupings in several areas outside Homs, Idlib and Daraa as well as in and outside Quneitra.

The field commander of the so-called the ‘Shabab al-Huda’ brigade which affiliates to the so-called the ‘Jabhet Thowwar Syria’ , Jehad al-Hsin, was eliminated during fighting with the Syrian army in Quneitra countryside- precisely on the outskirts of Hamedeyeh town.

Clash among armed groups in Idlib

On the other hand, a clash flared up between terrorists from al-Nusra Front and the ‘Jabhet Thowwar Syria’ in Idlib countryside.

Al-Nusra Front –linked terrorists and several armed groups in Maarret al-No’aman outside Idlib stormed headquarters of the so-called the ‘al-Omma’ brigade [nation brigade] in the area after the brigade pledged alliance to ISIL organization.

Gunmen belonging to the ‘al-Omma’ brigade fled Idlib and moved to ISIL sites outside Aleppo, media reports said.
