PROVINCES,(ST)_Terrorists’ supply routes from Turkish territories into the northern countryside of Aleppo have become under Syria army’s crossfire, as local people of Nubul and al-Zahra towns ward off terrorist organizations’ attempts to storm the towns.
According to a military source, army units in cooperation with popular defense groups regained today control of al-Manasher and al-Maqla’a areas and hills surrounding al-Ewejeh area north-east Aleppo.
The recapture of the said areas came after the army imposed control over al-Sakan al-Shababi area [ youths houses area] and cut off terrorists’ supply routes between al-Jandol and al-Ewejeh, which is adjacent to al-Kendi Hospital.
Thereby, terrorists’ supply routes from Turkish territories into the northern countryside of Aleppo became under Syrian army’s crossfire.
On May 22, army units broke terrorists’ siege on Aleppo central prison and imposed control on nearby areas, tightening grip on terrorist outposts in eastern and east-northern edges of Aleppo city.
In this context, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel said that Syrian army made remarkable progress in Handarat front in the northern countryside of Aleppo amid gunmen defenses collapse.
Terrorists try to storm Nubul and al-Zahra towns
The army’s advance on the east-northern axis synchronized with warding off terrorists’ attempt to storm Nubul and al-Zahra towns north-west Aleppo.
“The locals of Nubul and al-Zahra towns warded off attempts by the al-Nusra Front and other terrorist organizations to storm their towns,” the official news agency (SANA) reported.
Another attempt by terrorists to attack Ein al-Dananir town, about 25 km north-east Homs city, was foiled by an army unit.
“The army unit clashed with the terrorists that tried to attack Ein al-Dananir town coming from al-Amereyeh town,” a military source declared, stressing that many terrorists were killed and injured in the clash.
More terrorists were killed when army units warded off terrorists’ attack on Jabborin town, about 19km far away from Homs city, the source added.
It indicated that army units thwarted terrorists’ infiltration bid from Mse’adeh town into al-Masodeyyeh town, which lies 15 km far away from the Syrian-Lebanese border.
There have been several attempts of attack on al-Masodeyeh town by al-Nusra Front terrorists, who infiltrated from Lebanon. But army units have foiled them.
Three terrorist ringleaders killed
Elsewhere, Syrian army continued targeting terrorist organizations in several areas outside Daraa, Quneitra and Idlib.
Two terrorist ringleaders were eliminated in al-Sheikh Meskin town, around 22km far away from Daraa city.
A third one was eliminated on the outskirts of Sraqeb town, about 33km far away from Idlib city.
Army units, in addition, discovered a bomb-making factory belonging to terrorist organizations on the outskirts of al-Sheikh Meskin town.
