Syrian Arab army launches a large-scale operation against terrorists outside Damascus

PROVINCES,(ST)_There have been a large-scale military operation against foreign-backed terrorists on the outskirts of Damascus amid reports of several terrorist attacks perpetrated against citizens in several suburbs . 

 Sounds of shelling the hideouts of terrorists on the outskirts were loud enough to wake Damascus locals up today at dawn.

According to media reports, the operation targeted terrorists’ hideouts and groupings in areas of Jobar, Erbin, Zamalka, Barzeh, Harasta, Hajjira, al-Hseneyeh, Darayya , al-Moaddameyeh and  Eastrn Ghouta where two ringleaders and a host of gangsters perished.

‘al-Ghouta revolution council’ targeted

The so-called ” Eastern Ghouta Revolution Council” was among the groupings targeted by units of the armed forces in today’s operations which also culminated in restoring stability and security to al-Shorta quarter and Kom al-Hajar in al-Sbeneh area in southern Damascus countryside.

Three terrorists were nabbed and a field hospital was discovered in al-Sbeneh area, according to SANA. 

On the other hand, a clash flared up between an army unit and an armed terrorist group in al-Zabadani city near the Lebanese border. Many terrorists were killed.

Fabricated accusations

The terrorists’ losses in the said areas prompted some media sources which back terrorism, to trump up accusations of chemical weapons use in Ghouta by the armed forces.

The accusations, according to the army’s statement, aims at diverting attention away from the huge losses which the terrorists have suffered recently everywhere.

4 citizens killed, 46 wounded in terrorist attacks

 The terrorists, who are futile to score any achievement on the ground, have attacked safe areas in Damascus countryside through firing mortar shells at citizens’ residence.

The shells landed in quarters of al-Baladeyeh, Kashkol, al-Wehdeh, al-Janayen and al-Rawda in Jaramana suburb kiling 4 citizens and  leaving 13 others wounded, according to a Police Command source.

A fourth citizen was martyred in al-Dekhaneyeh area when a shell landed there.

This morning, it was reported that 11 citizens including 7 children were wounded by mortar shells –fired by terrorist- landed in eastern quarter in al-Moaddameyeh town, just 4 km away from Omayad Square in Damascus.

The wounded were admitted to al-Mowasa Hospital.

Other two citizens were also wounded as shells landed in Bab Toma quarter and Tishreen Park in the capital (Damascus).

At dawn, terrorists detonated a booby-trap in al-Mayadeen city in Der Ezzour province leaving 20 citizens wounded and serious damages at the scene.

Massacre in Lattakia countryside

Last night, the armed forces found mutilated corpses of men, women and children in towns  northern Lattakia countryside during  mopping up operations there.

post-mortem examinations revealed that some of them were shot while  others were slaughtered. 

Daraa and Aleppo

   Relative to developments in other provinces, the Syrian TV channel reported that the armed forces pounded several hideouts of terrorists in  southern Daraa province.

A military source mentioned names of 9 identified terrorists, one of  Saudi nationality, eliminated in the said province.

It noted that an army unit thwarted terrorists’ attempt to detonate 6 explosive devices in Kefr Nasej town .

In northern Aleppo province, the armed forces targeted terrorist groupings and weapons–laden cars in the surroundings of the central prison and on the industrial city road in al-Sheikh Najjar area.

Idlib and Homs

Around 59km away from Aleppo province, precisely in Idlib countryside, many bandits were hammered when the armed forces obliterated their hideouts in Ariha, Wadi al-Dayf, Bdama, al-Jesr al-Abyad, Taftanaz, Kafr Roma and Ma’arret al-No’aman areas.

Further hideouts were wiped out in quarters of Bab Hod, alhamedeyeh, al-Qosor, and al-Qabis as well as in al-Rastan, al-dar al-Kabir and Talbeseh in the central Homs province.
