PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has reportedly continued operations in northern Aleppo province to isolate the city from the countryside, as fighting between the Turkish people’s protection units (YPG) and ISIL continued in Ayn al-Arab city.
According to media reports, Syrian army regained control of Handarat farms north Aleppo and struck sites of the ‘State of the Iraq and the Levant’ [terror organization known as Daesh in Arabic and as IS or ISIL or ISIS in foreign media reports] in al-Bab city and on the outskirts of Kweris airbase in Aleppo countryside.
Many terrorists were killed and injured in the strikes.
YPG kills 45 IS terrorists
At the same time, Kurdish sources from Ayn al-Arab city [known as Kobane in Kurdish] north Syria confirmed the death of more than 45 Daesh-linked terrorists during fighting with the YPG.
At least 17 terrorists from the Daesh organization were taken captive by the YPG, according to the sources which added that 30% of Ayn al-Arab city is under the control of the terror Daesh organization. .
The terror organization Daesh besieges about 5.000 civilians in Ayn al-Arab city amid acute food shortages.
In another development, Syrian army targeted terrorist groups in several areas outside Idlib, Homs and Daraa, killing many terrorists and destroying several vehicles for them there, according to the official news agency (SANA).
More terrorists were mowed down when popular defense forces warded off terrorists’ infiltration attempt from Turkish border at Elok town west al-Derbaseyeh city, the Alikhbaria TV channel reported.
The TV channel added that army units discovered an arms cache under the ground in Ghweran quarter in northeastern Hassaka province.
Syrian-Lebanese border
Over the past two days, the Syrian-Lebanese border had witnessed successive attacks by terrorists from al-Nusra Front and Daesh on Syrian army’s sites in Asal al-Ward and on Hizbollah sites in Britla town.
The Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel clarified that the goal of the attacks was to open a route for gunmen to reach towns in Qalamoun area outside Damascus in order to break the military siege imposed on them.
“Strategically, gunmen in Qalamoun area have been eliminated. They can only wage a war of attrition, but the Syrian and Lebanese armies a well as resistance will never allow the return of the situation as it was before the Qalamoun battle,” Military Expert Mohammad Abbas told the TV channel.
He made clear that the gunmen in the eastern mountains of Lebanon have become encircled after the Lebanese army isolated Arsal town from its surroundings.
