Syrian Arab army kills many IS terrorists in Der Ezzour and Homs, recaptures most of Morek town in Hama
PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian warplanes have struck terrorist organizations’ positions in Der Ezzour, Daraa and Quneitra, killing dozens of terrorists belonging to the IS and the ‘Free Army’, according to media sources.
The sources said Syrian army targeted positions for the terror organization Daesh [known as IS or ISIS or ISIL in foreign media reports] in Hwejet Saker and al-Hweqa quarter in Der Ezzour province and eliminated many terrorists from the Daesh in quarters of al-Reshdeyeh and al-Sena’a in the same province.
More terrorists from the same organization [Daesh] were killed during a clash with an army unit east al-Foroqlos town on Homs-Palmyra road.
A source at Homs province told the official news agency (SANA) that an army unit clashed with an armed terrorist group belonging to the Daesh [IS] holed up in a fuel station east al-Foroqlos outside Homs. All the terrorist group’s members died.
“The terrorists were wearing explosive belts,” the source said, adding that weapons and telecommunication devices of the terrorists were confiscated.
‘Free army’ sites in Daraa struck
In southern Daraa province, Syrian warplanes hit positions of the so-called the ‘al-Moataz Bellah’ brigade which is affiliated to the ’Free Army’, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel reported, adding that dozens of gunmen were killed and injured in the airstrikes.
The TV channel also said that there are fierce fighting between Syrian army and gunmen in Morek town in northern countryside of Hama.
The fierce fighting resulted in recapturing most of the town by Syrian army, the Syrian TV channel confirmed. However, the Beirut-based TV channel said that Syrian army regained full control over the town.
Elsewhere, Syrian army targeted terrorist groupings in several areas in Aleppo, Idlib, Quneitra and Damascus countryside.
On the other hand, some 177 wanted persons from Damascus and its suburbs, Aleppo and Quneitra turned themselves in to the competent authorities under reconciliation process.
As for the developments in Ayn al-Arab city [Known as Kobni in Kurdish] north-east Syria, media sources said that the Kurdish people’s protection units regained control of the strategic Tal Sh’er west the city.
