Syrian Arab army kills hundreds of IS terrorists in intense clashes on outskirts of Jabal al-Shaer area outside Homs

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has engaged in a fierce fighting with IS terrorists on the outskirts of Jabal al-Sha’er outside Homs and has shot down a reconnaissance plane in Der Ezzour city, military and media sources said Wednesday.

A military source declared that army units in cooperation with popular defense groups have engaged in fierce fighting with terrorists from the Daesh organization [known as IS or ISIS or ISIL in foreign media reports] in Jabal al-Sha’er area.

“Hundreds of terrorists were killed and injured in the running battle,” the source added.

While in Der Ezzouur province, Syrian army shot down a reconnaissance plane over al-Maqaber area [graveyards area] in Der Ezzour city, the official news agency (SANA) reported.

The agency added that Syrian army destroyed a car bomb driven by suicide bomber from the Daesh organization [IS] before it reached a garrison in Hwejet Saker in the same province.

There were also clashes between Syrian army and terrorists affiliated to the same organization [Daesh] in quarters of al-Sena’a, al-Hweqa and al-Reshdeyeh in Der Ezzour city.

The clashes ended in eliminating many terrorists.

More terrorists were reportedly killed and injured as Syrian army targeted terrorist groupings outside Aleppo, Quneitra, Idlib and Damascus.
