Syrian Arab army kills dozens of ‘al-Nusra Front’ and ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ terrorists in Idlib, conducts successful operation in Homs

PROVINCES,(ST)_Dozens of terrorists affiliated to al-Nusra Front and the ‘Ahrar alSham’ Movement, including Saudis, were killed in Idlib countryside on Monday, a military source declared.

The source said that the terrorists were killed in a qualitative operation carried out by army units in al-Baragheti town that lies on Saraqeb- Abu Duhur road in Idlib countryside, confirming that two Saudis and a Libyan were among terrorists killed in the town.

It added that army units targeted terrorist organizations’ sites in Jabal al-Akrad near Syrian-Turkish border and in Qaston, T’om, al-Rami, Jdar Bakfalon, Nahalya, al-Laj towns as well as on the outskirts of Jabal al-Arba’een in eastern and southern countryside of Idlib where many terrorists were killed and injured.

Moreover, army units eliminated 13 terrorist ringleaders, mostly of foreign nationalities, on the outskirts of Idlib central prison, according to the Syrian TV channel.

Further terrorists linked to the same terror organization [al-Nusra Front] and allied groups were eliminated when army units struck terrorist hideouts in al-Msefrah town, western edge of Bosra al-Sham city and Semlin town in southern Daraa province and in al-Rafid area outside Quneitra.

Successful operations in Homs

Several hideouts of terrorists were pounded in the strikes which synchronized with pursuing the ISIS terrorists in the eastern countryside of Homs and targeting terrorist groupings in al-Holeh, about 27km north-west Homs, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency indicated that an army unit carried out a successful operation against terrorists in al-Barghouteyeh town, about 23km south-east al-Salameyeh city near Homa-Hama administrative boundaries.

Sabotage act

In the same province [Homs], the ISIS terrorists sabotaged today at dawn drinking water wells in al-Dawwara area, around 20km north-east Palmyra city, using explosive devices and stole some equipment.

While in western countryside of Sweida, Syrian army destroyed several vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns belonging to terrorists on Alali-Mdawra-Shoumra axes.

Syrian army also discovered a 160-meter-long tunnel extends from junction of Harasta-Jobar-Erbin into Lamis Factory and governorate building in Harasta district in Damascus countryside.

Many tunnels linking Harasta and nearby districts – Barzeh and Qabon- were discovered over the past months. 

Clashes between terrorists in Duma

In another development, the Damascus-based al-Watan newspaper quoted activists as saying that clashes erupted between the ‘Islam Army’ led by Zahran Allosh and the ‘alOmma Army’ in Duma city in the eastern Ghouta of Damascus over controlling one of the headquarters.

“9 persons including a girl died in the clashes,” the paper said.

Attack on al-Darkhabeyeh checkpoint

It added that one of the gunmen leaders, his name Ammar Abo Ghadab, was shot dead by army fire in al-Zabadani area amid reports of heavy fighting erupted between army units and armed groups that attacked al-Darkhabeyeh checkpoint, which is located between Khan al-Sheih and al-Darkhabeyeh outside Damascus.
