Syrian Arab Army Kill Chechen Ringleader of Attack on Aleppo Central Prison Plus British and Turkish Terrorists in Lattakia
PROVINCES,(ST)_Armed terrorist groups’ bid to attack the Aleppo central prison has been foiled and large number of terrorists, some of Saudi, Tunisian, British and Turkish nationalities, have been killed in today’s operations nationwide, according to local media reports.
The official news agency said on Thursday that the army units thwarted armed terrorist groups’ attack on the Aleppo central prison and killed a large number of terrorists, including the ringleader of the attack, who was of Chechen nationality.
In this context, Alikhbaria al-Soreyeh TV channel quoted Aleppo governor as denying media reports that terrorists seized the central prison, stressing that security forces and soldiers thwarted the attack.
The attack coincided with striking terrorist groupings in quarters of Bani Zied, al-Sekkari, Karm al-Mayser, al-Marjeh and in towns of Kweris, Jdedeh, Erbid, Rasm al-Abbod, Samlin, al-Meslmeyeh, Ebtin and Khan Tuman in the same province [Aleppo].
A military source confirmed the death of dozens of terrorists and the destruction of a several weapons-laden cars in the said areas.
More terrorists belonging to the ‘Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant’ affiliated to al-Qaeda were eliminated in the northern countryside of Lattakia province.
The state-run Syrian TV channel said that terrorists of Saudi, Libyan, British and Turkish nationalities were among the dead there.
In southern Daraa province, a military source announced names of 10 identified terrorists killed in areas of al-Rafid, al-Mahir, al-Swesa, al-Frikha, on al-Sad road, refugees camp, Jasem , Semlin, Othman and al-Mzereb.
Seized weapons
However, in central Homs province, the army units confiscated a quantity of weapons and ammunitions in the northern quarter of al-Qusair and crushed an armed terrorist group in al-Zara farms.
The terrorist lost more weapons in clashes with the army units in Der Ezzour province.
The clashes, which flared up in quarters of Al-Arfi, al-Jbeleh, al-Hweqa, al-Reshdyeh, al-Emal and al-Rdisat, also results in eliminating scores of terrorists, some of Tunisian nationals.
Names of at least 12 identified terrorists were declared.
Eastern Ghouta
In a further development, the army units carried out qualitative operation against terrorist groups in al-Ash’ari farms and Kafr Batna town- outside Damascus- where many terrorists died.
The army units also wiped out many terrorist groupings and arms in al-Mleha, Zebdin, Der al-Asafir, Marj al-Sultan, Noleh, al-Blaleyeh, Khan al-Sheih, Darayya, al-Zabadani and Yabroud.
They warded off infiltration bid by terrorists into al-Bayader area in Ma’aloula town outside Damascus. All terrorists perished.
Syria is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.
The US, France, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, world media reports say.
