Syrian Arab army intensifies operations against terrorists

OVINCES,(ST)_At least 52 terrorists, mostly of Arab nationalities,  have been eliminated outside Lattakia and Daraa provinces amid reports of stepping up operations in Homs and Aleppo provinces and in Damascus countryside.  

In details, a military source declared that the armed forces killed today 4 identified terrorists and wounded several others in a tailored operation in al-Rawda town in the northern Lattakia countryside where two cars picking up terrorists and 6 weapons-laden cars were extirpated.

It added that further 16 terrorists were eliminated and 9 others wounded when the armed forces targeted 2 cars loaded with Grad rockets in al-Forolloq reservation.

The source also announced names of other 13 terrorists of Saudi, Moroccan, Kuwaiti, Palestinian, Algerian, Lebanese, and Egyptian nationalities killed in the towns of al-Rabe’a and Dweren.

Thus, the number of identified terrorist killed there was 37. 

Daraa province

However, in southern Daraa province, the armed forces tracked down terrorists in Daraa al-Balad and wiped out terrorist groups in the towns of Tafas, Nawa, Jellen, al-Lajat, al-Hrak, Inkhel, Teba, and Tal al-Samn.

A military source declared names of 15 terrorists among the dead.

Damascus countryside

In another development, an official source informed the official news agency that the armed forces clashed with armed terrorist groups in the flashpoint area of Jobar, just few kilometers away from the capital [Damascus] and struck terrorist groupings in Erbin area and to the east of al-Shefoneyeh area.

It confirmed the death of many terrorists in what  the source described as ‘successful and intensified’ operations on al-Bahhareyeh farms axis and on alNashabeyeh-alQasemeyeh axis.

“A room equipped with hi-tech devices and 3 weaponry-loaded cars were destroyed and several ringleaders were crushed in the said areas,” the source said.

It pointed out that a series of operations were carried out in the farms of al-Rhebe and in areas of Jerud, al-Mleha and al-Zabadani’s eastern mountains.

An unknown number of terrorists were killed in the said areas and in a clash which flared up between an army unit and an armed terrorist group from the so-called Ahrar al-Sham’ to the east of Mesraba area, to the east of Damascus.  

In a separate incident, a quarrel erupted between terrorists from al-Nusra Front and the so-called ‘Ahfad al-Rasoul’ in Khan al-Sheh, around 26km to the south-west of Damascus. Several terrorists perished.

Last night, many terrorists died in a quarrel among them in Darayya area.

Aleppo province

While in northern Aleppo province, the armed forces eliminated many armed terrorist groups and raided arms-laden cars in 17 areas and further thwarted terrorists’ infiltration bids into safe areas in the city.

Homs province

Other terrorist groups were wiped out in the areas of al-Rastan, al-Ghasebeyeh, al-Qarabis, Bab Hod, al-warsheh and al-Qosor in central Homs province, according to a military source.

The source added that the armed forces clashed with terrorists trying to cut off the road of al-Qaryatain and foiled an attempt to detonate 3 explosive devices planted on the junction of Sharefeh town in eastern Homs countryside.
