PROVINCES,(ST)_ The foreign-backed terrorists today sustained heavy losses in operations carried out by units of the armed forces across the country .
An official source told SANA that four terrorists were killed in a qualitative operation in Hajjira town, south of Damascus countryside, adding that others were killed and injured when the armed forces destroyed an arms cache in Jobar suburb, east of the capital.
It noted that a ringleader and several gangsters were eliminated and most of their weapons destroyed in farms surrounding the towns of al-Bahhareyeh and Der Salman in the eastern Ghouta.
A shell-making factory and field hospital discovered
The source confirmed that a shell-making factory including tens of mortar shells was discovered between Zebdin and al-Mleha towns outside the capital.
While in Khan al-Sheih area, the armed forces found a field hospital containing medical items stolen from public and private clinics.
On the other hand, aquarrel broke out between two terrorist groups from al-Nusra Front in Doma city outside Damascus over splitting stolen flour and fuel. Dozens of terrorists perished in the quarrel.
Confrontations
In Der Ezzour province, a unit of the armed forces confronted today at dawn an armed terrorist group’s attack on a garrison near al-Mre’eyeh town where at least five terrorists were reportedly killed.
Another unit of the armed forces clashed with a terrorist group in al-Erfi quarter in the same province which culminated in killing and injuring many of the group’s members.
The latter developments coincided with continuing operations of the armed forces’ in the northern Aleppo province and the central Homs province.
Heavy machine guns, anti-aircraft missile, various types of weapons and ammunitions were destroyed in the northern and western Aleppo countryside.
Army cracks down on terrorists in Homs
Meanwhile, a military source said: “A unit of armed forces crushed all members of an armed terrorist group when they tried to attack employees at ‘Shenshar’ grain silo in Homs.
It stressed that the armed forces continue hunting down terrorists in the old Homs city and inflicting heavy losses upon them.
Yesterday, the armed forces found four tunnels in Kafr Aya farms outside Homs.
Attacks on garrisons foiled
In the southern Darra province, the armed force warded off terrorists’ attacks on several garrisons in different areas, confiscated weapons and foreign currencies in Nawa city, and shelled several hideouts of al-Nusra Front affiliates in Inkhel city, Mzereb town and the eastern Mleha town.
