Syrian Arab Army Imposes Full Control Over Strategic Area in Quneitra, Eliminates Number of Terrorists in Yabroud and al-Dar al-Kabera
PROVINCES,(ST)_Fresh strategic gains have been recorded in today’s operations against the foreign-backed terrorists outside Quneitra, Damascus, Homs and Daraa provinces.
Military sources have confirmed that the army units imposed full control over a strategic area in Quneitra province and eliminated several terrorist ringleaders in Yabroud area outside Damascus province.
“The strategic al-Yarzan hill in the southern countryside of Quneitra has become under the army’s control,” a military source told the official news agency, noting that the hill was a stronghold for terrorists.
It added that a large number of terrorists were killed there.
Ringleaders and funder killed
Another blow was delivered to the terrorists as the army units eliminated a ringleader of the so-called the ‘Islamic Front’ and Leader of the internal security militia as well as ringleader and funder of terrorist groups in Yabroud area in the northern countryside of Damascus.
The ringleaders were among a number of terrorists died in the said area and in the farms and towns of al-Sahl, al-Jarajer, Rima and al-Saleheyeh on the outskirts of Yabroud area.
More terrorists were crushed in operations against their hideouts and groupings in Duma, Erbin, al-Mleha and Der al-Asafir, Darayya, Khan al-Sheih, Adra and Harasta in Damascus countryside.
While in the eastern quarter of Jeroud town, a terrorist from the so-called ‘al-Tawhed brigade’ died and two other wounded in a detonation of an explosive device inside a hideout.
60 terrorists died in concentrated operation
Moving 120km to the north of Jeroud town, precisely in central Homs province, it was reported that at least 60 terrorists were killed and a large chunk of weapons and munitions was destroyed in a concentrated operation targeted hideouts of terrorists in al-Dar al-Kabera area.
Al-Dar al-Kabera area is located around 9km to the north-west of Homs city.
A source said: “An arms depot containing a big quantity of munitions and rockets, 6 cars equipped with rocket launcher, guns, anti aircraft missiles, and 3 mortars were destroyed in the operation.”
It added that many terrorists were crushed in Jabal al-Shaer, Hosh Hajjo areas and in towns of Salam Sharqi, al-Khaledeyeh, al-Ghasebeyeh and al-Zara in the same province [Homs].
Another qualitative operation was carried out against terrorist groupings on the road linking between Daraa and Tahte town in southern Daraa province where tens of terrorists reportedly perished.
More terrorists belonging to al-Nusra Front were killed in towns of Naseb and Em al-Mayadeen amid reports of wiping out 2 weapons-laden cars at the junction of al-Hrak town in the same southern province.
3 terrorists arrested in Sweida
In another development, the competent authorities nabbed 3 terrorists affiliated to the so-called ‘Soqor al-Lojat’ battalion and seized a French-made rifle in al-Sweida province.
The terrorists smuggled 34 rifles from Wa’ara area to al-Lojat area, killed a citizen and wounded two others when they opened fire on a car by the beginning of this month and stole money from citizens, according to the official agency.
The agency, in addition, said that a citizen was martyred and another one seriously wounded by a terrorist sniper near ‘Rahmeh’ fuel station in Duma area outside Damascus.
Syria is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.
The US, France, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, world media reports say.
