Syrian Arab Army Go Ahead With Decisive Operation in Al-Qalamon Area, Kill Dozens of Terrorists

PROVINCES,(ST)_The army units have pressed ahead with dealing blows to armed terrorist groups  outside Damascus province and in Aleppo province and thwarted infiltration bid from Lebanon into Syria.

For the second day running, the army units eliminated many terrorists from al-Nusra Front in al-Sahl town, Rima farms and on the outskirts of Yabroud city as well as in Jeroud farms, Maqalea al-Batra’a, al-Msehle farms in al-Qalamon area outside Damascus province.

A large-scale operation started yesterday in Yabroud area which is a stronghold of terrorists who fled al-Qusair countryside and al-Nabk areas after the army units had imposed control over them.

10.000 terrorists in al-Qalamon

There are 10.000 terrorists, mostly belong to a-Nusra Front and the ‘Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant’,  in Al-Qalamon area which comprises towns of al-Jarajer, Yabroud, Esal al-Qard, Rankous, Rima farms and Flita, according to media reports.

The town of al-Jarajer has become under the Syrian Arab army control since yesterday.

As for other developments in Damascus countryside, it was said that several operations were launched against terrorist groupings in Jeroud, al-Rhebeh, Darayya, al-Mleha, Zebden, Der al-Asafer, al-Zabadani and Khan al-Sheih areas.

An unknown number of terrorists died in the operations.

Other operations were conducted in the surrounding of Aleppo central prison and in towns of Endan. Ezan, al-Ma’asaraneyeh, Tal Sh’er, al-Meslmeyeh, DaretEzeh, Kweris, Erbid, Rasm al-Abbod, as well as in quarters of Haddadin, Bestan al-Bash, al-Hedareyeh, al-Maysar, al-Marjeh, Ewejeh and BaniZied  in northern Aleppo province.

Dozens of terrorists were killed not only in the said areas but also in an area between the countryside of Hama and Idleb and in al-Rastan and al-Zara areas outside Homs province.

Military sources confirmed that terrorists of Saudi, Jordanian, Lebanese and Iraqi nationalities were among the dead in the said areas.

14.00 civilians evacuated

Yesterday, the army units in cooperation with border guards mowed down scores of terrorists tried to sneak from Lebanon into Talkalkh countryside in Homs province, the official news agency reported.

The agency clarified that infiltration bid aimed to enter weapons and munitions to help the terrorists who have been delivered knockout blows by the army units in al-Zara town.

Regarding the evacuation operation from the old city of Homs, it was reported that as many as 14.00 civilians have been evacuated since last Friday.

Terrorists target funeral

In a separate incident, terrorists fired 2 shells on a funeral in JdaydetArtouz town outside Damascus killing a citizen and leaving 5 others, including a child, wounded.

Other three citizens were wounded when terrorists opened fire on cars and buses on Harsta Highway in Damascus countryside.

Daraa city plunged into darkness

In addition, the terrorists launched shells on the main power station in southern Daraa province where 2 workers were wounded.

“Daraa city has suffered  power outage following the mortar attack,” Director of electricity company in Daraa said.

Another mortar attack happened in the same province [Daraa] as shells hit al-Yarmouk mail causing fire at the scene.

Dwayeh massacre

Yester night, al-Nusra Front-affiliates perpetrated a massacre in al-Dwayeh town outside al-Quneitra province killing 8 civilians. 

Syria is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.

The US, France, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, world media reports say.
