Syrian Arab army flushes terrorists out of 2 towns in Hama, eliminates dozens of terrorists in Lattakia countryside
PROVINCES,(ST)_The number of safe towns outside Hama province have reached 8 in six days amid reports of eliminating dozens of al-Nusra Front-affiliates in Lattakia countryside and confiscating weapons in Der Ezzour province.
It was officially reported today that units of the armed forces flushed terrorists out of two towns- Tal Melh and al-Jelmeh- in northern Hama countryside and restored stability and security to the area.
This fresh achievement increased the number of safe towns outside Hama to 8 in less than a week while other 7 towns were declared ‘safe’ on Sep.16.2013.
Advanced locations
On the other hand, media reports said that the armed forces stationed in advanced locations in Barzeh suburb, just few kilometers to the north-east of Damascus, and destroyed hidden cameras set up by terrorists to the south-east of Teachers’ Building in Jobar suburb.
The reports also referred to continuous crack down on terrorists on the outskirts of Shebaa town and in the farms of al-Bahhareyeh and al-Qasemeyeh in the heart of the eastern Ghouta outside Damascus as well as in Doma city, darayya suburb and al-Hseneyyeh town.
An unknown number of terrorists, some linked to al-Nusra Front, died in the said areas.
Shell kills 3 citizens in Sayyedeh Zainab
The same province (Damascus countryside) witnessed a terrorist attack when a mortar shell-fired by terrorists- landed on citizens’ homes in ‘al-Shamalneh’ alley way in al-sayyedeh Zainab area, to the south of the capital [Damascus].
At least three citizens were martyred and serious damages were caused to several passing- by cars at the scene.
Another mortar attack took place in Der Ezzour province, precisely in al-Jora quarter where a mortar round fell leaving damages to properties. No casualties reported.
Local-made rockets
As for other developments in Der Ezzour province, an official source said that the armed forces mowed down an armed terrorist group called ‘al-Abbas’ brigade in al-Erfi quarter and shelled terrorists’ hideouts and groupings in quarters of a’Ardi, Sheikh Yassin and al-Hweqa in the city.
It added that the armed forces pounded a hideout of the so-called ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ ringleaders in al-Shmeteyeh town and confiscated 70 local-made rockets, 5 rifles and a sniper and further eliminated 4 terrorists in al-Mre’a town.
Southern and northern provinces
While in southern Daraa province, the armed forces ambushed an armed terrorists group trying to attack a garrison in al-Harra town, hammered terrorists sheltering inside a school in Tafas town and clashed with a terrorist group in Othman town, according to a military source.
The death toll of terrorists in the said towns was not reported.
Moving towards the country’s north province, Aleppo, it was said that the armed forces wiped out many terrorist groupings in 18 areas in the countryside.
The official news agency (SANA) reported that dozens of terrorists were killed as they were trying to infiltrate into safe areas of al-Zahrawi Souq, al-Sweqa and near the court in the old city of Aleppo.
It cited that an army unit thwarted terrorists’ attack on al-Adnaneyeh town’s locals in eastern Aleppo countryside.
On the other hand, a military source said six weapons-laden cars, three rocket launchers and mortars belonging to terrorists were destroyed in Aleppo countryside.
‘ISIL’ ringleader killed
Other two weapons-laden cars were destroyed in Beit Abliq town in northern Lattakia countryside where 12 terrorists were killed and 11 others injured.
Moreover, the armed forces eliminated 11 terrorists and injured 5 others and further destroyed a heavy machine gun-equipped car in al-Kabir town, according to a military source.
The source confirmed the death of dozens of al-Nusra Front-affiliates in Droshan town during an accurate strike targeted their grouping, adding that one of the ringleaders of the so-called ‘Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) was killed in al-Kom town.
Terrorists of Egyptian, Saudi, Turkish, and Chechen nationalities were among the dead in Droshan town.
