PROVINCES,(ST)_At least four fronts in Syria are witnessing intense fighting between units of armed forces and foreign-backed terrorist groups.
The fiercest fighting has broken out in al-Qsir city in the central Homs province where the armed forces are hunting down terrorists in the southern and northern areas and destroying several tunnels, which were used by terrorists to store weapons and ammunitions.
Unknown number of terrorists from al-Nusra Front is reportedly killed in the fighting which coincided with dismantling tens of explosive devices planted by terrorists inside homes, public utilities and on main roads in al-Qsir city.
In al-Wa’er area in the same province (Homs), the armed forces found a field hospital including medicines and medical equipment stolen from public and private hospitals in the province.
Terrorists’ infiltration bids foiled
On the other hand, the armed forces repelled terrorists’ bid to sneak from Lebanon through al-Sarhaneyeh, Heet, Bwit areas, north al-Qsir city, into Syria.
Another attempt to infiltrate into Syria from Jordan through several sites in the Southern Daraa province was also foiled.
Meanwhile, units of armed forces targeted terrorists’ hideouts in Hajjera, Adra al-Balad, Jobar, Harasta, al-Jarba, al-Bahhareya, Qesa, Darayya, al-Nabk, Der Ateyeh, al-Kesweh, and Barzeh areas outside Damascus province.
A military source stressed that a lot of terrorists from al-Nusra Front and non-Syrian terrorists have been killed in the operations carried out in the said areas.
In the northern Aleppo province, the units of armed forces eliminated unknown number of terrorists during operations carried out against terrorist groupings near Meneg airport and central prison and in Khan al-Assal al-Layramon, Betan al-Qaser, and Sheikh saeed areas.
At the same time, several terrorists’ hideouts in Sermin city in Idleb province were pounded.
In the southern Daraa province, the units of armed forces clashed with terrorist groups in Daraa al-Balad, al-Shajara, al-Hrak and Sheikh Miskin areas ended in killing dozens of al-Nusra Front-affiliated terrorists.
Syria is facing a foreign-backed war that aims to weaken the Syrian Arab army and destroy national economy to serve Israel’s interests in the region.
