Syrian Arab army expands its operations in Daraa, continues pursuing ISIS terrorists on outskirt of Der Ezzour airbase

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has expanded its operations in Daraa countryside and has continued pursuing the ISIS terrorists on the outskirts of Der Ezzour airbase, the official news agency (SANA) reported Saturday.

The agency said army units killed many terrorists in the western edge of Bosra al-Sham and in Jemrin, Athman, al-Fqe’a, al-Hrak, al-Maleha al-Sharqeyeh and al-Sheikh Meskin  towns in Daraa countryside.

It added that more terrorists affiliated to the ISIS [ known as Daesh in Arabic] were eliminated on the outskirts of Der Ezzour airbase outside Der Ezzour province and in several areas in the eastern countryside of Homs..

A military source announced names of 7 identified terrorists killed there, adding that army units foiled a terrorist group’s infiltration bid from al-Mre’eyeh into al-Jafra.

12 ISIS terrorists killed

“As many as 12 terrorists died during the infiltration bid,” the source said, indicating that large numbers of terrorists were killed when Syrian army targeted their groupings in towns of al-Mre’eyeh, al-Mohasan, Ayyash, Hatla and Hwejet Saker in Der Ezzour countryside.

Meanwhile, the Syrian TV channel said the army units targeted terrorist organizations in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and al-Qalamoun mountain in Damascus countryside and in Jobar quarter near Damascus where several terrorist hideouts were pounded.

Clashes near Duma city  

There were also clashes between army units and armed terrorist groups in al-Rihan farms, which lies north-east Duma city outside Damascus.

Leader of the so-called the ‘Ali ben Abi Taleb’ battalion plus 4 terrorists were killed in the clashes.

Two terrorist ringleaders, dubbed Abo al-Bara’a al-Libi and Abo Mhammad al-Saudi, were killed when army units destroyed a terrorist hideout on the outskirts of al-Janodeyeh town outside Jesr al-Shoghour in Idlib.

Moreover, Syrian army targeted terrorist groupings in Handarat camp, al-Layramon, al-Sheikh Lutfi, old city of Aleppo, Byanon, al-Hedareyeh, al-Ewejeh, Hanano, Mayer, Shqef, al-Hader and Kafr Hamra in and outside Aleppo.
