Syrian Arab Army Enters Samra Town Outside Lattakia, Inflicts Heavy Losses Upon Terrorists in Aleppo
PROVINCES,(ST)_Fierce battles have continued on several fronts amid successive victories being notched up by the army units over foreign- backed terrorist groups and their ringleaders.
Today, the army units have flushed out foreign-backed terrorists from al-Samra police station in al-Samra town in the northern countryside of Lattakia and wiped out terrorist groupings in Kasab, al-Qasatel and surrounding of Debseh, the official news agency (SANA) said.
Al-Samra town is located to the west of the border of Kasab town.
Many terrorists, including non-Syrians, were killed and a dump of bombs and explosive devices were destroyed in the said areas, according to a military source.
Terrorist ringleaders’ hideouts pounded
On the other fronts, the army units obliterated three hideouts for terrorist groups’ ringleaders in Joret al-Shayah quarter in Homs city and south al-Nator town outside Homs and in Kahil town in Daraa province.
Several areas in the two provinces [Homs and Daraa] and the provinces of Aleppo, Der Ezzour and Idleb have seen intensified military operations against terrorist groups.
A military source confirmed that the army units destroyed two convoys of cars for terrorists in al-Atareb and al-Ma’ara town in the southwestern countryside of Aleppo and mowed down a terrorist as he was planting an explosive device in al-Hatab square in the old city of Aleppo.
The operations coincided with tracking down terrorist groups in Bab Hod quarter in the old city of Homs and mopping up areas of al-Amereyeh, al-Ramoseh and al-Sheikh Sa’eed in Aleppo province.
In Hama province, the army units conducted a concentrated operation in al-Hwejeh town in the north-western countryside of the province where many terrorists were killed and injured.
Infiltration bid into Sweida foiled
On the other hand, the army units foiled terrorists’ infiltration bid from Ma’araba town, located in the eastern countryside of Daraa, into Ara town to the south-west of al-Sweida city.
A source at Sweida governorate declared that many terrorists perished and a quantity of weapons was seized in the confrontations.
The seizure included rifles, bombs, US-made sniper and PKC gun, the source said.
In another development, a military source denied terrorists’ capture of al-Zahrawi market and al-Sweiqa area in the old city of Aleppo.
