Syrian Arab army engages in fierce fighting with IS in Der Ezzour, kills leader of terror battalion in Hama

PROVINCES,(ST)_Intense fighting has flared up between Syrian army and the IS terrorists in Hwejet al-Saker area north Der Ezzour city, according to media sources.

The sources confirmed the death of many terrorists belonging to the ‘State of Iraq and the Levant’ [terror organization known as Daesh in Arabic as IS or ISIL or ISIS in foreign media reports] in the fighting.

Several hideouts for the terror organization Daesh in al-Sena’a, al-Jbeleh, Hweqa and al-Reshdeyeh quarters in Der Ezzour province were destroyed by Syrian army, a source at the province declared.

The Syrian army also targeted terrorist organizations in several areas in Daraa, Quneitra and Hama, destroying a car loaded with weapons for terrorists in al-Khawaled and Em Batneh towns outside Quneitra and eliminating many terrorists in Daraa and Hama.

Leader of the so-called the ‘Jend al-Rasol’ battalion, Abdulhadi al-Nahar, was killed whene Syrian army struck terrorist groups in Morek town in northern countryside of Hama.  

On the other hand, an army unit defused two explosive devices planted by terrorists on al-Zara town’s road in southern countryside of Hama.

On August 27th, army units defused 3 explosive devices plantedby terrorists on Aqrab-Hama road.
