Syrian Arab Army Eliminates 4 Ringleaders Plus Dozens of Terrorists, Evacuates Civilians From Towns in Homs

PROVINCES,(ST)_Four terrorist ringleaders have been eliminated in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus amid reports of intensified military operations against foreign-backed terrorist groups in Yabroud area outside Damascus and evacuation of several families from two towns in Homs province.

According to the state-run Syrian TV Channel, an army unit eliminated three ringleaders and destroyed a quantity of various types of munitions and weapons in a qualitative operation in Der al-Asafir farms- to the south of al-Mliha town -which is located 15km away from Damascus.

A third ringleader was among 8 terrorists who died in another qualitative operation in Alya farms in Duma area in Damascus countryside.

Intensified operations  

Meanwhile, the official news agency confirmed that the army units intensified military operations against terrorist groups in Yabroud city, the terrorists’ major stronghold in al-Qalamon area.

“Many terrorists were killed and several hideouts were pounded in the operations,” the agency said, pointing out that more terrorists perished in unrelenting operations in Darayya city and in Jobar area outside Damascus.

In central Homs province, an army unit destroyed a car driven by the ringleader of the so-called ‘Maghawer Bab Amro’ in al-Seltaneyeh town.

“The terrorist ringleader, Salil Abo al-Hasan, was wounded and two terrorists, who were with him, died,” a military source said, adding that other 3 terrorists were killed when an army unit targeted another car in al-Hesn town in Talkalkh area outside Homs.

Civilian evacuation

The ongoing fighting in Homs province coincided with evacuating many families from towns of al-Hesn and al-Shwehed outside Talkalkh.

A source at Homs governorate declared that an army unit evacuated many civilians, mostly women and children, from the said towns.

It added that several gunmen in al-Hesn and al-Shwehed towns turned themselves in to the competent authorities.

Scores of terrorists killed in Aleppo, Daraa

Elsewhere, media reports said that the army units thwarted terrorists’ infiltration attempt into al-Hatab square in the old city of Aleppo, targeted terrorist groupings in many flashpoint areas outside Aleppo and Daraa provinces.

Dozens of terrorists were mowed down and wounded in the areas.

In a separate development, the Alikhbaria Syria TV channel reported that many terrorists died in a quarrel  between two terrorist groups in northeastern province of al-Raqqah. 

Syria is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.

The US, France, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, world media reports say.
