Syrian Arab army eliminates 36 al-Nusra Front affiliates outside Damascus and Homs, destroys chunk of weapons

PROVINCES,(ST)_As the Syrian Arab army has its finger on the trigger to face any possible US-led aggression on the country, it goes ahead with achieving victories against foreign-backed terrorists everywhere to restore stability and security across the homeland.

On Sunday, official sources said that 36 al-Nusra Front-affiliates died in operations outside Homs and Damascus provinces and a chunk of machine guns and mortars were wiped out there.

They made it clear that 16 terrorists from al-Nusra Front were eliminated in Talbisa city outside Homs while  other 20 terrorists were eliminated in Rima farms in Yabroud area outside Damascus.

Terrorists of Saudi, Libyan and Jordanian nationals were among the dead.

Clash in Jobar

The sources, in addition, noted that a ringleader was killed in a clash between units of the armed forces and armed terrorist groups south of the Electricity Company and east of al-Manasher square in Jobar quarter, just 3km away from Damascus.

“The armed forces destroyed weapon-laden cars at al-Thanaweyeh square in Harasta suburb and launched a tailored operation in Alya farms in Doma city where 3 terrorists perished,” SANA quoted an official source as saying.

More terrorists were hammered in  southern Damascus countryside- in Hajjira and al-Dyabeyeh-and in eastern Ghouta – in towns of al-Qasemeyeh and Der Salman- as well as in the eastern mountains of al-Zabadani area.

 Ambush

Concurrently, the armed forces continued flushing out terrorists’ hideouts and grouping in Kesin town (in al-Holeh) and al-Zara farms ( in Talkalkh) and further in quarters of al-Warsheh, al-Hamedeyeh, al-Qosor, and al-Qarabis in the central Homs province.

A military source confirmed that a host of terrorists died in the said areas, citing that an army unit ambushed an armed terrorist group between al-Salem and Tal Khazneh towns in al-Mesherfeh area.

All the group’s members were either killed or injured in the ambush.

Weapons-laden cars

In another development, the armed forces raided weapons-loaded cars belonging to terrorists between Qazhal and Em al-Qasab towns and in Talbisa in Homs province as well as on the road linking Abo Khazaf to Tal Ma’arof town outside al-Qameshli province.

They also defused 6 explosive devices near ‘Al Mohammad’ Mosque in Aleppo city and an explosive device weighing 35kg near al-Thawra Park in al-Hassaka city.

Further weapons and ammunitions were destroyed and dozens of terrorists were mowed down in Aleppo, Daraa and Hama provinces.

Shells hit al-Abbaseyen area

In a separate incident, at least four citizens were wounded in a mortar attack and by the detonation of an explosive device in Damascus and Hama provinces.

A Police Command source said: “two citizens were wounded when three mortar shells landed in Bshara Khouri Street in al-Abbaseyen area in Damascus.”

While  2 others were wounded as an explosive device blasted on al-Horat-Salhab road in al-Ghab area outside Hama.

The US, France, Britain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey support the terrorists, who perpetrate heinous crimes against citizens and destroy the county’s infrastructure, by all means.

They are working now in unison to justify an illegal aggression on the country to aid the defeated terrorists, who are receiving unrelenting knockout blows everywhere.
