Syrian Arab army discovers tunnel in Mliha town near Damascus, continues operations against terrorists

PROVINCES,(ST)_Army units have struck terrorist groupings in more than 27 restive areas in Der Ezzour province and outside Damascus, Homs, Quneitra and Daraa provinces, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The strikes synchronized with  foiling terrorists’ infiltration attempts outside Damascus, Daraa and Homs provinces  and defusing three explosive devices planted by terrorists on Aqrab-Hama road.

In details, the army units targeted today terrorist groupings in quarters of Hweqa, Jbileh, Erfi and near Jesr al-Seyaseh and Hwejet Kate’a in Der Ezzour city where many terrorist were killed and injured.

More terrorists died as the army units struck terrorist groupings in Em Sharshouh, Tal Abo al-Sanabel surrounding, Em Sehrej, Em al-Rish, Salam Sharqi, Aqrab and al-Holeh in Homs countryside and in Sa’asa’a, al-Hennawi farm, Najjar farm and Beit Saber in Quneitra countryside as well as in Khan al-Sheih area outside Damascus.

Some of the terrorists killed in Khan al-Sheih area were non-Syrians, a military source said.

Other terrorist groupings in Daraa al-Balad, Tal al-Alaqeyeh, al-Lajat, Bosra al-Harir and al-Na’emeh in southern Daraa province were also targeted by the army units.

Infiltration bids

At the same time, the army units thwarted terrorists’ infiltration bids from Kherbet Sergaya into several safe areas in Zemrin outside Daraa and from Khrab al-Shahem into Daheyet al-Yarmouk in Daraa.

There were also other infiltration attempts by terrorists from Berj Qa’ee into Ahrash Kafrnan in Homs countryside and into several garrisons in al-Medakha and al-Sondos areas in Khan al-Sheih area outside Damascus, but the army units foiled them.

Three explosive devices defused  

On the other hand, engineering units defused three explosive devices, weighing 25-30 kg/ each, at al-Mo’a town junction on Aqrab-Hama road.

The devices were planted by terrorist groups to kill passers-by, a source at police command said.

Later on the official agency reported that the army units found a tunnel-divided into three branch- during combing operation in quarters of Mliha town in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus.

On August 14, the army units recaptured the city of Mliha and surrounding farms after special operations.
