Syrian Arab army destroys arms cache in Aleppo, wards off attacks on military posts

PROVINCES,(ST)_ A 150-meter long tunnel has been discovered in Duma area outside Damascus province amid reports of killing more than 25 terrorists outside Aleppo province and thwarting attacks on military posts outside Idleb and Homs provinces.

According to the official news agency (SANA), an army unit discovered a tunnel linking Duma farms and Harasta highway in Damascus countryside and arrested two terrorists inside it.

The discovery of the tunnel coincided with targeting terrorist groupings in Duma, Jobar, the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus , al-Zabadani and on the outskirts of Khan Dannon camp in Damascus countryside as well as in several areas outside Aleppo province.

 

Some 25 terrorists killed

More than 25 terrorists were killed in Kherbet al-Mashir and an arms depot was wiped out in Hritan area in Aleppo countryside, a military source said.

Eight more terrorists from al-Nusra Front died when an army unit shelled a hideout for terrorist groups in al-Hrak town outside Daraa province.

A military source declared that the army units warded off an attack on a military post in the surrounding of the ‘Belal al-Habashi’ Mosque in Daraa al-Balad and struck terrorist groupings in several towns in the same province [Daraa].

Infiltration bids

There were also other infiltration bids by armed terrorist groups into al-Molok military post and Tal Naser post in Homs countryside and into a third military post in al-Maarat outside Idleb province. But they were foiled by the army units.

Situations of 266 gunmen regularized

On the other hand, the competent authorities regularized situations of 266 gunmen from Der B’alba, Kafr Abd, Deir M’allah, al-Helaleyeh and Dar al-Kabera in Homs countryside under the ongoing national reconciliation.
