Syrian Arab army defeats terrorists from areas in Damascus countryside, raids 100 vehicles

PROVINCES,(ST)_Restoration of stability and security to two areas in Damascus countryside and destruction of 100 vehicles belonging to terrorists in al-Hassaka province are the main achievements of the armed forces on the ground today.

In details, it was officially declared that al-Hseneyeh and al-Dyabeyeh areas in the southern Damascus countryside have become safe in the wake of launching what a military source described as ‘accurate and successful’ operations there.

Mopping up operation

The military source clarified that the armed forces wiped out all terrorist groupings, nabbed large number of terrorists, confiscated a chunk of weaponry and defused many explosive devices planted in the main roads of the two towns.

Other two towns- Hajjira and al-Sbeneh- in the same province witnessed intensified operations which resulted in eliminating an unknown number of terrorists and destroying weapons and munitions.

The destruction of weapons caused plumes of dark smoke that could be seen  in the heart of the capital [Damascus].

The Ghouta

In the eastern direction of the Damascus, the armed forces killed 17 terrorists in farms of al-Delbeh and al-Bahhareyeh in Ghouta and crushed a terrorist group belonging to the ‘Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) in Htetet al-Terkman area.

More terrorists were killed Darayya, Ma’aloula, al-Nabk, Yabroud, and Adra areas and near Bet Jen farms outside Damascus.

Warplanes

In another development, a military source said that  warplanes carried out  tailored sorties against terrorist groupings in Alyeh area to the west of Tal Tamer in al-Hassakeh province where 100 vehicles were destroyed and a host of terrorists died.

30 flashpoints areas

The tailored operations coincided with shelling many hideouts of terrorists in more than 9 areas in northern Aleppo province, ambushing an armed terrorist group in Dahret Abdrabbo in al-Layramon area and warding off terrorists’ bid to infiltrate into the old city of Aleppo.

Elsewhere, the armed forces bombarded several terrorists’ hideouts in Tal al-Samn, al-Tera and Tafas towns in southern Daraa province and in 12 towns in Idlib province as well as in 6 areas- towns of al-Zara and al-Khaledeyeh, city of al-Rastan and quarters of al-Mashjar, al-Warsheh and al-Qarabis- in central Homs province.

They, in addition, arrested three terrorists and seized weapons after a clash  on Homs-Salameyeh road.

In a separate incident, two mortar shells- fired by terrorists- landed at the entry of Zedel town and on an oil tank in Homs refinery.
