PROVINCES,(ST)_Units of the armed forces have made strategic gain outside Damascus and nabbed 15 al-Nusra Front affiliates in al-Qameshli province and further confiscated different types of weapons  in Hama province.

The strategic gain was manifested in cutting off a main supply line to terrorists in three northeastern areas- Jobar, Zamalka, Erbin- outside Damascus as the armed forces imposed control over a an area of 1.5km stretching from  the industrial al-Qabon area to Zamalka area.

The area of al-Qabon has a strategic site because it is surrounded by  jobar, Zamalka, Erbin, Barzeh and Harasta areas where terrorists are sheltering.

The supply line was used to provide terrorists in the three areas with weapons and ammunitions.

Conduits

On the other hand, the armed forces found a 150- meter-long conduit -stretching from an old home to the cemetery- plus several 10- meter-long conduits under the main road in Jobar area.

A military source at the site told the official news agency’s reporter that French-made RBR rockets, Anti-Aircraft Missiles (AAMs), launchers for machine guns and different types of rockets were seized in the area.

It confirmed the death of large numbers of terrorists, mostly of Arab nationalities.

Other terrorists were eliminated in a series of operations launched in  eastern Ghouta (the surrounding of al-Bahhareyeh town) and in Harasta, Duma, and Darayya areas.

Clashes near Sednaya

While to the west of Sednaya city, precisely towards Talfita town, a clash  flared up between the armed forces and terrorist groups and ended in destroying two weapons-laden cars and killing most of the groups’ members.

Sednaya city is located around 27.9km to the north-east of Damascus and it is one of the most deep-rooted Christian cities.

Detonation attempt

Moving 147km to the east of the city, to be exact in Homs province, the armed forces foiled terrorists’ bid to detonate 4 explosive devices planted on the road linking eastern and western Em al-Hartin towns outside al-Makhram area in eastern Homs countryside.

The weight of the explosive devices, according to an official source, was roughly 300km.

In the mid of this month, the armed forces restored stability and security to 7 towns-the eastern and western Em al-Hartin, Msherfeh, Mes’adeh, Mse’ed, Khattab and Asmad- in the eastern Homs countryside.

The same province (Homs) witnessed today military operations against terrorist groupings in quarters of Bab Hod, Joret al-Shayyah, al-Qarabis and al-Qosor.

However, in the countryside of Homs, the armed forces repelled terrorists’ attempt to infiltrate from al-Dar al-Kabereh town into the nearby al-Mohajrin town.

They also wiped out terrorist groupings in al-Dar al-Kabereh, Kesin, al-Sam’alil,  Berj Qa’e, al-Ghajar and al-Zara towns as well as to the north of Kafr Nan town.

An unknown number of terrorists were crushed in the said areas, while several others died in a detonation of an explosive device as they were making it inside a hideout in al-waer quarter.

Seized weapons

In Hama province, the armed forces seized weapons and walkie-talkies inside a hideout of terrorists in al-Sharia orchards and arrested all terrorists there.

A military source made it clear that the seized weapons included PKC guns, NATO snipers, rifles, grenades, RPG launchers, walkie-talkies, explosive devices, bomb countdowns, and big quantity of munitions.

Three vigilantes injured

In al-Qameshli city, it was said that the competent authorities, in cooperation with locals, nabbed 15 terrorists from al-Nusra Front in Qaddour Bek quarter.

The authorities were informed by locals about strange persons coming to a house in the quarter, so they investigated into the matter and nabbed the terrorists.

The wounded were admitted to a hospital.

Aleppo’s quarters

Meanwhile, 13 terrorists were mowed down when they tried to attack locals in the safe areas in Salaheddin quarter in northern Aleppo province.

Other terrorists, who were opening fire on citizens at the entry of Bestan al-Qaser quarter, were eliminated by the armed forces.

Earlier, the terrorists shot two citizens dead and wounded 6 others at the entry of the quarter.

Daily, terrorists try to sneak into safe areas in Aleppo city but they always fail.

The attack coincided with shelling many terrorists’ hideouts and groupings in more than 11 areas where a chunk of weaponry was also destroyed.
