Syrian Arab Army Cordons off Nawa City and Recaptures Quarter in Daraa Province
PROVINCES,(ST)_Army units have advanced in southern Daraa province and targeted terrorist groupings outside Damascus and Homs provinces and in Aleppo province, according to the official news agency (SANA).
The agency said today that the army units regained control of Sejneh al-Qademeh quarter in Daraa al-Balad after eliminating dozens of terrorists, including ringleader of the so-called ‘ al-Tawhed’ brigade.
It added that Nawa city has been cordoned off by the army units that imposed control over the eastern side of the city and made progress towards the national hospital in the same city.
Israel arms terrorists
A source told the agency’s reporter that the morale of the Israeli-backed terrorists have collapsed as they asked other terrorist groups in the western countryside of Daraa and in Daraa city to abet them.
Israel supports the terrorists by supplying them with weapons through separation fence in the occupied Golan, the source added.
It is worthy noting that the terrorist groups have displaced two-thirds of Nawa city’s locals, estimated 135.000 persons.
Two days ago, the army units recaptured al-Jabeyeh hill, located between the south and west of the city.
The army advance coincided with thwarting terrorists’ infiltration bids from al-Bajabjeh quarter into Sejneh quarter in Daraa al-Balad and shelling hideouts for terrorist groups belonging to the so-called the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ in Da’el town outside the province.
Many terrorists were killed and injured in the said areas and in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and in Jobar quarter near Damascus.
Clashes
Saudi mercenaries were among those killed in the eastern Ghouta of Damascus and in al-Zabadani city, the agency said, noting that there were clashes between the army units and armed terrorist groups in Harasta area in Damascus countryside and in al-Rashedin quarter in Aleppo city.
Elsewhere, the army units struck terrorist groupings in Taldo, Kisin, Ein Hsin and Wadi al-Mira to the south of Hasya’a in Homs countryside where many terrorists died.
Duma locals protest against terrorists
In a separate development, thousands of Duma city’s locals in Damascus countryside demonstrated against the Takfiri armed terrorist groups.
The demonstrators stormed the terrorists’ headquarters and called them to leave the city and the Eastern Ghouta, the agency said, noting that about 3.000 persons took part in the demonstration.
On October 24th, 2012, a terrorist group belonging to the so- called the ‘Islam’ brigade slaughtered 25 civilians, including children and women and the elderly, at al-Shohada’a square in Ali Bin Abitaleb Street in Duma city.
