PROVINCES,(ST)_Several terrorist ringleaders belonging to the so-called the ‘Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) and dozens of al-Nusra Front-affiliates have been eliminated in strikes targeting their hideouts and groupings outside Aleppo, Palmyra and Damascus provinces.
In details, the official news agency (SANA) reported today that several ringleaders from al-Qaeda-linked (ISIL) and terrorist groupings were wiped out in the surroundings of the central prison and al-Kendi Hospital as well as in Khan al-Assal, al-Wadihi and al-Safira and Bani Zed areas in northern Aleppo province.
A military source declared names of three ringleaders killed there and confirmed that the armed forces destroyed a chunk of weaponry and munitions in the towns of Kweris, al-Jadedeh, Rasm al-Abbod and north of al-Nayrab camp.
It added that the armed forces warded off terrorists’ attempts to sneak into safe areas in al-Layramon and into markets of the old city.
In Aleppo
The source cited that as many as 13 terrorists were killed and 6 cars loaded with weapons were destroyed in a tailored operation which targeted their groupings near Serbian swimming pool in the city of Aleppo.
Frequently, the terrorists lost the biggest quantity of their weapons and ammunitions in Aleppo province.
In Der Ezzour
Besides their losses in Aleppo province, they lost a lot of heavy machine guns outside Der Ezzour and Homs provinces.
An official source said that a ‘big’ quantity of heavy machine guns and different types of munitions for terrorists were destroyed in al-Taim area, around 15 km away from Der Ezzour city.
More weapons were also destroyed as the armed forces crushed 6 weapons-laden cars belonging to al-Nusra Front in al-Tebeh town outside Palmyra city and several others in Yabroud area outside Damascus. Dozens of terrorists reportedly perished.
In Homs
A military source told SANA that many terrorist groupings were crushed in southern al-Shandakheyeh and Em Jrem outside Palmyra, adding that an army unit eliminated a terrorist group boarding a boat loaded with weapons in al-Rastan lake.
More terrorists died when the armed forces shelled their groupings in the areas of al-Rastan, Berj Qa’e, Talso, and Kesin, and in quarters of Wadi al-Sayeh, Joret al-Shayyah, Bab Hod, al-Qosor, and al-Qarabis in Homs as well as in towns of Ma’arret Mesrin, Bennesh, Sermin, Nahlia, and surrounding of Jabal al-ar’ba’een in Idlib province.
In Damascus countryside
In another development, the armed forces found two conduits in Darayya city and pressed ahead in Barzeh and Bludan areas outside Damascus.
They raided terrorist groupings in the surrounding al-Safir Hotel in Ma’aloula town and in Adra, Yabroud, al-Kesweh, al-Mleha, Harasta and Doma areas as well as in farms of Der Salman and Shabaa in the eastern Ghouta.
In addition, the armed forces clashed with terrorists in Jobar suburb.
The death toll of terrorists in the said areas was not reported, but an official source announced names of 7 terrorists who were among the dead.
Detonation kills parents
In a separate incident, a terrorist attack happened in al-Hassakeh city when an explosive device, attached to a car, detonated last night in al-Falah town near the eastern entry, killing a man and his wife.
While their daughter was seriously wounded, according to a police command source.
