Syrian Arab army conducts series of operations in Aleppo and Daraa, wards off terrorists’ attack on Damascus-Quneitra road

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has carried out a series of concentrated operations against terrorist organizations in Aleppo and has warded off terrorists’ attack on Damascus-Quneitra road, military sources declared Monday.

The concentrated operations in Aleppo resulted in eliminating dozens of terrorists in al-Sheikh Lutfi and surrounding of al-Nairab in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo and in Byanon, al-Amereyeh, Andan, Khan Toman, Handarat camp, M’araset al-Khan and Mayer.

“Several weapons caches plus hideouts belonging to terrorists were destroyed in M’araset al-Khan and Mayer, which lie about 20 km north Aleppo, and being used as supply routes by terrorist organizations to attack Nubul and al-Zahra towns,” a military source confirmed.

The Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel reported that as many as 123 gunmen, including foreigners, came from Retyan, Byanon and Idlib were killed during the most intense clashes that broke out last week between the popular defense groups and the al-Nusra Front fighters in Nubul and Zahraa towns in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

In another development, Syrian army killed at least 18 terrorists in a qualitative operation against terrorists’ sites in Jasem town , about 45 km north-west Daraa city, and pounded several terrorist hideouts in al-Lajah area, about 75km north Daraa city.

The Takfiri terrorist organizations announced through social media names of 10 of their members died during the army’s operation in Jasem town.

More terrorists were mowed down when Syrian army warded off terrorists’ infiltration attempt from the strategic Der al-Adas town into Tal al-Mseh, north-west Daraa city.

There was another infiltration attempt by terrorists from the ‘al-Fosol al-Arba’a’ Street in Khan al-Sheih town’s farms into al-Salam highway in Damascus countryside. But the Syrian army foiled the infiltration attempt  and killed many terrorists.

The road linking Khan al-Sheih area and al-Salam highway is known as Damascus-Quneitra road.

Moreover, Syrian army escalated strikes against terrorist organizations outside Hama, Homs and Idlib where many terrorists were reportedly killed and injured.  

Emir of the “Ahrar al-Sham” Movement  in Jabal al-Zaweyeh, dubbed Abo Taleb, was killed in detonation of an explosive device in an area located between Mshon town and Eblin town outside Idlib.
