Syrian Arab army closes in on Wadi Ein Tarma in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, clashes with ISIL near Tabqa airbase in Raqqa
PROVINCES,(ST)_Army units have conducted a series of operations in the western countryside of Damascus a day after making more progress in the Eastern Ghouta battle, according to the official news agency (SANA).
The agency reported yesterday that the army units closed in on the entry of Wadi Ein Tarma in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus in the wake of eliminating many terrorists holed up in the northern farms of Mliha town.
One day earlier, the army units regained control of the Tamico pharmaceutic manufacturing company , Panda Factory an Qatari building in the same area.
Military source declared that terrorists collapsed following the victory of the Syrian Arab army in Mliha town in the Eastern Ghouta outside Damascus on August 14.
In another development, the army units obliterated a hideout for terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Islamic Front’ in Adra al-Balad district and pounded several terrorists’ hideouts in the eastern mountains of Zabadani city in Damascus countryside.
Dozens of non-Syrian terrorists killed
There were also concentrated operations against terrorist groups on the outskirts of Erbin and Zamalka towns in the same province [Damascus countryside] and in Jobar quarter near Damascus.
Many terrorists were killed and injured in the said areas.
In the western countryside of Damascus, the army units mowed down dozens of non-Syrian terrorists on Zakieh-Khan Sheih road and carried out operations against terrorist groupings in Khan Sheih farms and on junction of Nahr Meir- Beit Jen as well as on al-Abbaseyeh road.
Other operations were carried out against terrorist groupings in several areas outside Quneitra, Aleppo, Lattakia, Daraa and Homs where many terrorists reportedly died.
Two of al-Nusra Front ringleaders eliminated
Two terrorist ringleaders belonging to al-Nusra Front – Khaled al-Sayyad (dubbed Abo Majed al-Ansari) and Ahmad Abdon -were among terrorists killed in al-Kerd square, Tertyah and Droshan in the northern countryside of Lattakia.
On the other hand, the army units foiled last night infiltration attempts by terrorists into Abo Duhur airbase in Idlib countryside and into several military posts in Tal al-Khedr in Daraa countryside.
Fierce fighting near Tabqa airbase
Tabqa airbase in Raqqa province is witnessing fierce fighting between the forces defending the airbase and the ISIL-linked terrorists that try to enter the airbase, a military source said.
The source confirmed that the forces defending the airbase inflicted losses on the terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Islamic state of the Iraq and the Levant’ (the former name of IS).
