PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army clashed on Friday with terrorists outside Hama and struck terrorists’ sites in Jorod Arsal east Lebanon, according to media sources.
The sources said Syrian army clashed with terrorist groups on the outskirts of Khnefis town in Salameyeh countryside outside Hama. But no information about the result of the clashes have been reported yet.
There were also air strikes carried out by Syrian warplanes against terrorists’ sites in Jorod Arsal which lies on the Syrian border in eastern Lebanon.
A day earlier, Syrian army recaptured al-Shaer gas field east Homs from terrorists and killed dozens of terrorists, including the ISIS Field Commander, Abo al-Bara’a al-Hamwi.
Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi was quoted on the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel as saying the maintenance works are to be started in the few coming days to rehabilitate the field.
Importance of Shaer gas field
Al-Shaer gas field enjoys a strategic position as it links east and west edges of Syria. It also produces 3.000.000 cubic meter of gas being used in power generation.
Syrian army attacked the ISIS terrorists who were inside the field from three axes and cut off the terrorists’ supply routes to the eastern area of Der Ezzour and northern area of Raqqa. Besides, the wells of al-Meher and Jahhar, Syriatel tower, and hills of al-Gharbi and al-Rajmeh have become under the army’s control.
The attack on the ISIS coincided with airstrikes carried out by Syrian warplanes to prevent the arrival of terrorists to the heart of field from the eastern area.
66 terrorists killed and injured
Moreover, Syrian army carried out yesterday operations against terrorists in Bzeneh town amd Htitet al-Jarash farms in Damascus countryside, killing and injuring 20 terrorists.
More 4 terrorists were killed and 25 others wounded as Syrian army targeted terrorist hideouts in Zebdin town in the same province [Damascus countryside].
There were also clashes between an army units and terrorists south-east Sayeda Sukayna in Darayya city where 10 terrorists were killed and 7 others wounded.
YPG takes control of 100 towns in Hassaka
In a separate development, the Kurdish people’s protection units imposed control over 100 towns in the western countryside of Ra’as al-Ayn and southern countryside of Tal Tamr in Hassaka province, according to al-Mayadeen TV channel.
