Syrian Arab army clashes with terrorists outside Damascus, Aleppo, Homs

PROVINCES,(ST)_Tirelessly, units of armed forces continue confronting foreign-backed terrorist groups’ bids to infiltrate into al-Qusayr city and target their hideouts and arms caches outside Damascus, Aleppo, Idleb, Hama and Homs. 

Today, a military source stated that a unit of armed forces eliminated a terrorist group as it tried to sneak from al-Hseneyeh area into al-Qusayr city, adding that another terrorist group was killed on al-Nasereyeh-Qaryatain road outside the central Homs province.

It asserted that several terrorist groupings in al-Rastan, Talbeseh, Bet Hajjo, the eastern al-Bwedah, al-Dab’a, Arjon, and Kisin areas have been targeted.

Unknown number of terrorists have  been killed and injured in the said areas.

10 bomb facilities destroyed

Meanwhile, Units of armed forces in Damascus countryside have destroyed 10 facilities for producing explosive devices and mortar shells in Doma suburb and carried out qualitative operations against terrorists in al-Eb farms, Harasta, Bet Sahm, Jobar and Barzeh areas.

At least three terrorist leaders and their men were killed in the operations, according to SANA.

In Idlib and Hama provinces, dozens of terrorists from al-Nusra Front have been eliminated and their vehicles were shelled in several towns outside the provinces.

In addition, a terrorist was dead as a result of detonation of an explosive device, which he was planting on Jorin-Ishtabraq road in Jesr al-Shogor countryside in Idlib.

A unit of armed forces dismantled three explosive devices in the same area.

In Masyaf city (48km to the west of Hama city), a huge number of locals and officials mourned the martyr reporter, Yara Abbas, who was shot dead yesterday by terrorists while she was covering clashes near al-Dab’a military airbase outside al-Qusayr.

Clashes near Aleppo central prison 

In the northern Aleppo province, it was reported that the surrounding area of central prison saw intense clashes overnight between units of armed forces and terrorist groups as Dahret Abdrabboh area on the main highway that links Aleppo with Turkey has become under the Syrian Arab army’s control.

According to the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel, Dahret Abdrabboh area is a strategic site as it would help the Syrian army to advance towards the northern Aleppo countryside, particularly Meneg military airbase and towns of Nebbel and al-Zahr’a (around 10km from Dahret Abdrabboh area).

In another incident, terrorists fired mortar shells on Homs residential alleys and a bus garage in Damascus.

Two shells landed in al-Nezha and Ekrema alleys have claimed lives of three citizens and left 28 wounded plus massive damage at the scene.

Earlier, two shells landed in a bus garage in al-Abbaseyen area in the capital causing 4 wounded and huge damages at the scene.  

“The wounded were admitted to a hospital,” an official source said.

Syria is facing a foreign-backed war that aims to weaken the Syrian Arab army and destroy national economy to serve Israel’s interests in the region.

The US, France, Britain, Qatar, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia fund and support the terrorist groups, who perpetrate heinous crimes against citizen and destroy Syria’s infrastructure.
