Syrian Arab Army Clashes with Terrorists on Several Axes, Continues Operations in Eastern Ghouta Outside Damascus
PROVINCES,(ST)_Clashes have flared up between army units and armed terrorist groups on Sheikh Najjar-Brij axis in Aleppo province and in Darayya city outside Damascus amid reports of killing many terrorists of Arab nationalities in the ongoing battles outside Damascus.
A military source told the Official news agency today that the army units mowed down many terrorists in clashes on Sheikh Najjar-Brij axis and targeted terrorist groupings and hideouts in the Industrial city, al-Layramon, Khan al-Asal, Ezan, Kafr Hamra and surrounding of the central prison.
It added that several weapons-laden cars for terrorists were destroyed on the road linking Hritan, Andan and Kafr Hamra.
“Armed terrorist groups’ infiltration bid from al-Sheikh Sa’eed into safe areas was foiled by the army units,” the source confirmed.
Meanwhile, all members of the armed terrorist groups were crushed in military operations in Der al-Asafir farms, Zebdin, al-Mliha orchards in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus.
Most of the terrorists killed in the said areas were of Arab nationalities, the official agency said, noting that more terrorists were eliminated in the areas of Jobar, Duma, Harasta, Khan al-Sheih, Darayya, Jeroud, and to the east of al-Dmeir town and near al-Rhibeh area.
Attacks on garrisons in Daraa and Homs foiled
In another development, the army units warded off armed terrorists’ attacks on garrisons on the outskirts of Nawa town and thwarted infiltration bid into Kherbet Ghazaleh in southern Daraa province.
Other attacks on garrisons in Palmyra-al-Sab’a Byar road in Homs province were also foiled by the army units.
The confrontation coincided with shelling terrorist groupings in several areas outside Daraa and Homs provinces and defusing 10 explosive devices- planted by terrorists- under a road linking al-Sekhneh and al-Hel field and in a street in al-Sekhneh town outside Palmyra.
Terrorist blast tunnels under Aleppo old city
Earlier, the agency reported that armed terrorist groups blasted tunnels, which they dug, under several historical building in the old city of Aleppo, causing widespread damages.
