Syrian Arab Army Carry out Qualitative Operations Outside Damascus, Kill Scores of Terrorists—20 Prisoners Died in Aleppo
PROVINCES,(ST)_Military sources have confirmed the death of a large numbers of foreign-backed terrorist groups in today’s operations outside Damascus and Lattakia provinces and in Aleppo and Idleb provinces.
The official news agency quoted on Tuesday sources as saying that the army units destroyed a rocket launcher and a vehicle equipped with heavy machine gun in concentrated operations against hideouts of terrorists from the so-called ‘al-Sahabeh’ battalions and brigades in Khan al-Sheih area and its farms, around 25km to the south-west of Damascus.
It added that a mortar and various types of weapons and munitions were wiped out in a qualitative operation in al-Mleha town, around 9 km to the south-east of the capital [Damascus].
Many terrorists, including a ringleader, were killed in the said areas and in operations in Darayya, al-Zabadani, farms of Tal Kerdi and Alya, Saqba and Duma areas outside Damascus.
In the northern Aleppo province, the military operations have continued against terrorist groupings where scores of terrorists were reportedly eliminated today in around 17areas.
20 prisoners died in Aleppo
Last night, Aleppo governor said that 20 prisoners died because the armed terrorist groups prevented the Syrian Arab Red Crescent from entering medicine and food to the central prison for the fourth day running.
300-meter long tunnel
In another development, the army units destroyed a 300-meter long tunnel in Ma’arret al-Noaman , around 35 km to the south of Idleb province and mowed down armed terrorist groups which tried to attack garrisons in the same area.
The tunnel was used by terrorists for shuttling and storing weapons.
33 terrorists killed
Moving around 8km to the east of Idleb, precisely in Sermin town, the army units killed 20 terrorists and destroyed 7 cars equipped with heavy machine guns.
Other 13 non-Syrian terrorists perished when the army units targeted a hideout of terrorists in the center of al-Shegr town in Jesr al-Shogor outside Idleb city.
In central Homs province, an arms depot was destroyed in Berj Qa’e town and many armed terrorist groups were crushed in towns of al-Zara, Hosh Hajjo, al-Msherfeh and al-Za’afarani.
More terrorists died in operations in Daraa al-Balad and in al-Naema and al-Hrak towns in southern Daraa province.
Mortar attacks
The province of Daraa witnessed mortar attack on the al-Yarmouk Mill and the nearby buildings where a guard was wounded.
The mortar attack was launched by terrorists harboring in al-Naema town leaving material damages to the mill.
Other mortar attacks took place in the capital [Damascus] when terrorists fired shells on Bab Tuma and Masaken Barzeh quarters. The attacks caused damages with no casualties.
The terrorists also launched missiles on Mazzeh 86 quarter in Damascus leaving damages to homes and a school at the scene.
Ahrar al-Sham’s ringleader eliminated
Back to results of the military operations in other province, a military source declared that a large number of terrorists, including ringleader of the so-called ‘Ahrar al-Sham’, were killed and several cars equipped with heavy machineguns were targeted in al-Rawda town and al-Foronloq woods in the northern countryside of Lattakia province.
Names of 10 terrorists were announced.
Syria is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.
The US, France, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, world media reports say.
