Syrian Arab Army Carries Out Operations Against Terrorist Groups in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, Finds 200 Meter-long Tunnel

      1. PROVINCES,(ST)_The Eastern Ghouta in Damascus countryside has witnessed a series of operations against the foreign-backed terrorist groups  which sustained heavy losses on all fronts.

According to the official news agency (SANA), the army units eliminated dozens of terrorist groupings in the areas of Jobar, Wadi Ein Tarma, al-Mliha and Marj al-Sultan.

“Well over 20 terrorists were killed and dozens injured in Jobar quarter,” the agency’s reporter said, adding that a 200-meter-long tunnel was discovered in Harasta after mowing down several terrorists in Alya farms in Duma area outside Damascus.

In the same area [Duma], an engineering unit defused about 38 booby traps  planted by terrorists there.

Terrorists from ‘al-Houda’ battalion killed  

Other operations were conducted by the army  in al-Sarkha farms , to the south-west of Yabroud city, where many terrorists belonging to the so-called the ‘al-Houda’ battalions perished.

The operations synchronized with obliterating terrorists’ hideouts in Khan al-Sheih farms killing terrorists in Bor Sa’ed quarter in al-Qadam.  

‘Al-Zara’ power station attack foiled

In Homs province, the army units warded off an attack on ‘al-Zara’ power station in al-Rastan city and foiled infiltration attempt from Ein Hsin town into Tal Emri and targeted terrorist groupings in towns of Kisin, al-Ghasebeyeh, Ein Issa and Enq al-Hawa, according to a military source.

About 12 ‘al-Haq’ brigade-linked terrorists killed

More terrorists were eliminated in provinces of Aleppo and Idleb.

As many as 12 terrorists from the so-called the ‘Islamic Front- affiliated ‘al-Haq’ brigade perished and 20 other hit when an army unit shelled a terrorist grouping in the surrounding of Sahl al-Roj outside Idleb province, a military source declared.

Three cars belonging to terrorists were wiped out in the same area while 4 others were destroyed in Taftinaz town in the same province [Idleb] which witnessed clashes between the army units and terrorist groups in Der Sonbol, Bennesh and to the south of Ariha and Saraqeb.

The army units, in addition, destroyed two rocket launchers and several cars belonging terrorists in Jesr al-Shogour, town of Haj Hammod and farm of Wadi al-Nahr outside Idleb province, according to a military source.

More gunmen surrendered

Today, four gunmen from al-Qarabis quarter and Jeb al-Jandali in the old city of Homs turned themselves in to the competent authorities.

A source at Homs province declared that the gunmen handed in three automatic rifles too.

Last Tuesday, almost 23 gunmen from quarters of al-Qarabis and Joret al-Shayyah turned themselves in to the competent authorities.
