Syrian Arab army advances into Jabal al-Shaer east Homs, strikes al-Nusra Front hideouts in Idlib and Daraa
PROVINCES,(ST)_Over 20 terrorists have been killed as Syrian army advances into Jabal al-Shaer area east Homs, a military source declared Wednesday.
The source said: “Army units moved forwards from Hayyan Field towards north and west and towards the two sides of Hajjar town’s road in Jabal al-Shaer area and killed more than 20 terrorists and destroyed three cars equipped with heavy machineguns.”
However, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel reported that Syrian army regained control of al-Shaer gas field east Homs after clashes with terrorists from the Daesh organization [known as IS or ISIS or ISIL].
The advance coincided with repelling terrorists’ attacks on protection units in al-Rastan dam and west al-Azem building in Homs countryside.
The official news agency (SANA) reported that army units scored direct hits on terrorists that tried to attack protection units and destroyed several cars belonging to terrorists as they were moving from Der Fol towards al-Amereyeh.
It added that Syrian army carried out operations against terrorists in al-Waer quarter and its orchards and in Kaferlahain al-Holeh as well as near al-Sharkasi Palace in al-Rastan and in towns of al-Dwebi, al-Msherfeh and north-east al-Masodeyeh in and outside Homs where many terrorists were killed.
At the same time, Syrian army thwarted terrorists’ infiltration bid from al-Dwebi into Abo al-Alaya in the same province [Homs] and destroyed hideouts and armed caches belonging to al-Nusra Front in al-Barra and Balyon towns in Jabal al-Zaweyeh outside Idlib.
41 terrorists killed
“Well over 17 terrorists from al-Nusra Front died in the said towns”, a military source said, adding more 24 terrorists, some of them non-Syrians, were eliminated in a military operation in Kansafra town in Idlib countryside.
The operation also resulted in wiping out 4 cars equipped with heavy machineguns.
Moreover, Syrian army killed many terrorists affiliated to al-Nusra Front in Ibta’a and al-Sheikh Meskin in southern Daraa province and targeted terrorist hideouts in several areas in the same province and in Quneitra countryside.
‘Ahraral-Raqqa’ Leader eliminated
As for the ongoing fighting in Ayn al-Arab city [known as Kobani in Kurdish], Alikhbaria Syria TV channel confirmed the death of the ‘Ahraral-Raqqa’ Leader, Bashir al-Abdallah, during clashes in the western edge of the city which is located north-east Syria.
