PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has advanced in al-Sheikh Meskin town in Daraa countryside and killed over 150 ISIS terrorists in al-Shdadi city in Hassaka countryside, media sources reported Saturday.
The official news agency (SANA) said that army units made a remarkable progress in al-Sheikh Meskin town, which lies 22km north Daraa city, in the wake of an unexpected operation launched few days ago from several axes.
The operation resulted, so far, in recapturing several buildings in the western and eastern edges of the town and killing large number of terrorists including al-Nusra Front leader in the town, dubbed Abo Homam al-Jezrawi.
Add to that, Syrian army in cooperation with popular defense groups regained control of the northern parts of al-Sheikh Meskin town, destroyed terrorists’ reinforcements there and forced terrorists to pull back.
A military source was quoted on SANA as saying that army units destroyed several terrorist hideouts and vehicles belonging to terrorists in Ibta’a town , which is adjacent to al-Sheikh Meskin town, and in Inkhel, Bosra al-Harir, Athman, Tafas and Der al-Adas towns north and north-west Daraa city.
Takfiri terrorist organizations affiliated to al-Nusra Front are spread in Daraa countryside after they have infiltrated via Syrian-Jordanian border.
The “al-Moataz Bellah’ brigade, the ‘al-Yarmouk’ army, the ‘al-Faroq’ brigade, the ‘Saif al-Sham’ brigades and the ‘Tawhid Kataeb Horan’ brigade are among the terrorist organizations that are operating in Daraa countryside.
In another development, the Syrian TV channel said that army units killed over 150 ISIS terrorists and wounded dozens during an operation in al-Shdadi city, which lies 50 km south Hassaka.
Terrorist ringleaders of foreign nationals were among the terrorists wounded during the operation in the said city.
In the same province [Hassaka], Syrian army ponded several hideout of the ISIS organization [ its Arabic acronym is Daesh] in al-Karameh, Mabtoh, Em al-Kebar and al-Sadeq areas- about 15-20 km south-west Hassaka city- and in Tal Brak area –about 35 km north-east Hassaka- and recorded direct hits on terrorists.
Many car bombs destroyed
Other hideouts of the ‘Islam Front’ and the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ plus car bombs on the outskirts of Serjeh town in Idlib countryside were wiped out by Syrian army.
Dozens of terrorists, some of them of foreign nationals, died in the said town.
More terrorists affiliated to al-Nusra Front were mowed down when Syrian army pounded their hideouts near Eblin town, about 23km far away from Idlib city.
In the western countryside of Idlib, precisely in Sahl al-Roj, an army unit destroyed 6 vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns belonging to the same terror organization [al-Nusra Front].
Al-Nusra Front storms al-Rastan city
While in central Homs province, Syrian army conducted a series of qualitative operations against terrorist organizations in the eastern countryside of the province.
The Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel said that al-Nusra Front stormed al-Rastan city in Homs countryside and apprehended some of the ‘Free Army’ leaders.
Nubul and la-Zahra towns
As for developments in Aleppo province, SANA said that army units inflicted heavy losses upon terrorists in several areas, while the al-Mayadeen TV channel confirmed that Syrian warplanes hit sites of al-Nusra Front terrorists that try to attack Nubul and al-Zahra towns.
It added that the popular defense groups in the two towns destroyed a car bomb coming from Byanon town into al-Zahra town before reaching its target.
Saudi terrorist, dubbed Abo al-Hasna’a al-Jazrawi, was driving the car bomb which was destroyed by the defense groups.
The popular defense groups in Nubul and al-Zahra towns announced that some of the persons that took part in the recent attack on Jam’eyet al-Jod were held captive.
