Syrian Arab army advances in Jobar quarter near Damascus, kills dozens of terrorists in Hassaka, Idlib, Der Ezzour

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has recaptured more buildings in Jobar quarter near Damascus and has killed dozens of terrorists outside Idlib, Daraa, Hassaka, Der Ezzour, Homs and Hama, according to media sources.

The sources said army units made remarkable progress on the southeastern axis of Jobar quarter through recapturing several buildings in the wake of heavy clashes with terrorists.

Over the past few days, There have been intensified strikes against terrorist hideouts in the quarter.

The fresh gain synchronized with military operations against terrorist groups in Erbin, al-Mliha, al-Nashabeyeh, al-Bahareyeh, al-Jarba and al-Qasemeyeh in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and in al-Qalamoun area on the Syrian-Lebanese border.

Terrorists of Chechen and Saudi nationals were among those who were killed in the eastern Ghouta of Damascus while 6 terrorists were killed and 17 others wounded in Jrod Raas al-M’arra town, which lies 30km far away from the Lebanese border.

31 terrorists eliminated

Add to that, army units eliminated over 11 ISIS terrorists and destroyed several armored cars belonging to them in al-Zera’a, al-Bo Omar, al-Jbeleh, al-Reshdeyeh, al-Hweqa , al-DSena’a, al-Rosafeh, al-Erfi, al-Mre’eyeh, al-Khareta, al-Shloleh, al-Hseneyeh and Ayyash areas  in and outside Der Ezzour province.

More 20 terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘al-Haq’ brigade were killed in operations in Jesr al-Shoghour area outside Idlib.

While in Kafr Ewid town in the same province [Idlib], army units destroyed a depot containing explosive devices and  bombs and killed the terrorists who were holed up inside it.

The military operations against terrorist organizations in the eastern countryside of Homs and in the eastern and northern countryside of Hama as well as in Daraa countryside continued and resulted in killing many terrorists and destroying weapons and munitions belonging to them .

Four mortar emplacements were wiped out in Daraa al-Balad outside Daraa, the official news agency (SANA) reported.

It added that army units defused 5 explosive devices, weighing 50kg,  in Tal Ghazal area, about 45km south-east Qameshli city.

ISIS attack on arms depots

In another development, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel said that the Syrian warplanes struck the ISIS gunmen as they were attacking arms depots in al-Hjef outside Der Ezzour.  

It indicated that the Kurdish people’s protection units warded off ISIS attempt to regain control of the outskirts of Rash Library in Ayn al-Arab city north Syria.

On the other hand, the armed groups fired mortar shells and gas cylinders on’ Halab al-Jdedeh’ quarter in Aleppo city and on Nobul and al-Zahraa towns outside Aleppo, according to al-Mayadeen channel.
