Syrian Arab army advances in Hama province, launches accurate operations against terrorists

PROVINCES,(ST)_A new advance has been recorded in Hama province amid reports of destroying arms depots and 41 cars for terrorists outside Damascus, Lattakia, and Homs besides foiling an attempt to burgle a grain silo in Hassaka province.

The advance manifested in vanquishing terrorists from towns of al-Barghotheyeh and al-Arshoneh plus al-Afafra farm outside Hama province.

The official news agency said: “the armed forces, in cooperation with locals, restored stability and security to towns of al-Barghotheyeh and al-Arshoneh plus al-Afafra farm in the wake of eliminating all terrorist groupings.”  

Tens of explosive devices were defused and several caves and caverns were destroyed in the towns during a mopping up operation, according to an official source.

Big losses

The sources noted that two rocket launchers were destroyed in al-Arshoneh town where large numbers of terrorists were eliminated.

Another rocket launcher was reportedly destroyed in al-Dar al-Kabira town in Homs province and a rocket cache was wiped out in a tailored operation in Ein Issa town outside Lattakia province.

The tailored operation ended also in killing 19 terrorists and destroying 11 cars, three of them equipped with rocket launchers.

A terrorist of Tunisian national and an expert in making bombs were among the dead, a military source said.

While the death toll of terrorists in today’s operations, in central Homs province, was large as the armed forces carried out a series of operations against terrorist groupings in quarters of al-Qosor, al-Qarabis, Bab Hod, al-Hamedeyeh, al-Safsafeh in the city and Joret al-Shayyah and in areas of al-Eastan, al-Halboz, al-Khaleleh, Em Jrem, Rasm al-Dab’a and Jbaba in the countryside.

Other operations were launched in northern Aleppo province and resulted in eliminating an unknown number of armed terrorist groups in quarters of al-Kallaseh, Bestan al-Qasr, and Bani Zed and in towns of Rasm al-Abbod, Kweris, Hilal and Khan al-Assal and on aMsallameyeh road.

The operations also targeted weapons-laden cars for terrorists in towns of Der Hafer, al-Naqqarin, and Orem al-Kobra as well as on al-Kastillo road.

The terrorists lost more arms when the armed forces destroyed two bomb-making factories in Barzeh suburb, around 6 km to the north of the capital [Damascus]and in al-Nabk area, around 78km to the north-east of Damascus.  .

The losses of terrorists, in Damascus countryside, were not only in arms but also in souls as the armed forces eliminated a host of them in operations carried out in areas of Barzeh, Zamalka, Saqba, Hajjira, Sbeneh, Yalda, Darayya, and in western side of Ma’aloula as well as north-east Der Ateyyeh outside Damascus.  

On the other hand, the official news agency reported that an army unit thwarted terrorists’ bid to detonate 4 booby-traps-planted by terrorists- under al-Dmir Bridge near railway station on alDmir-Palmyra road.

‘al-Fatehin’ brigade’ ringleader killed

Regarding developments on other fronts, the armed forces eliminated ringleader of the so-called ‘al-Fatehin’ brigade in clashes in Der Ezzour province, crushed many terrorists outside Idlib province, warded off terrorists’ attempts to sneak into quarters of al-Mowazafin and al-Rosafeh in De Ezzour province and into Salahedin quarter in Aleppo city.

They also repelled terrorists’ bid to burgle Alya grain silo in Hassaka countryside and destroyed 30 cars belonging to them.

Most of the terrorists were killed and injured, according to an official source.

Last week, the warplanes destroyed 100 vehicles in Alya area where large numbers of terrorists were eliminated as they were trying to steal grains in order to smuggle them to Turkey.
