PROVINCES,(ST)_A significant step forward in the Eastern Ghouta battle outside Damascus province had been made by units of the armed forces, as a terrorist group coming from Iraq were nabbed in Homs province.
In details, the armed forces today restored security and stability to Der Salman town in the Eastern Ghouta 19 days after imposing control over al-Khameseyeh town in the same area.
This significant advance was achieved in the wake of carrying out a series of operations that ended in flushing all terrorist groups out of the town. It also coincided with cracking down on foreign-backed terrorists in al-Bahareyeh farms and shelling several hideouts and groupings of terrorists in al-Hseneyeh, al-Dyabeyeh, Hajjira, Daraya, Doma, al-Zabadani eastern mountains, al-Rhebeh areas in Damascus countryside.
Unrelenting clashes
SANA quoted an official source as saying that many terrorists perished in the said areas and in clashes which raged to the south-east of the Electricity Company in Jobar suburb, and to the south of al-Omari Mosque in al-Qabon suburb.
The source cited that the armed forces took control of several positions where terrorists were seeking harbor in the west of al-Adnan mosque in Zamalka suburb.
On the other hand, a military source declared that the armed forces arrested in Homs province an armed terrorist group coming from Iraq and continued targeting terrorist groups in the quarters of al-Qarabis, al-Qosor, and Bab Hod and in towns of al-JKhaledeyeh, al-Dar al-Kabira, al-Saen, Hosh al-Shabot, Talbiseh in the same province (Homs).
Rockets hit Homs
It added that the terrorists fired rockets at “Homs” Hospital in al-Wa’er quarter causing material damages at the scene, pointing out that an engineering unit defused two booby-traps weighing 30kg/each put in bags inside al-Mesherfeh towns’ graveyard to the east of Homs.
Another booby-trap weighing 40kg was dismantled near al-Kahraba square in al-Nashweh quarter in al-Hassaka city.
Arms depots destroyed
In another development, the armed forces continued targeting terrorist groupings and weapons in more than 12 areas in northern Aleppo province and obliterated many arms caches in southern Daraa province.
Several rocket launchers and mortars were destroyed in towns of Kweris and al-Jadedh outside Aleppo province amid reports of warding off terrorists’ bid to infiltrate into al-Sweqa quarter in the old city of Aleppo.
The death toll of terrorists in today-operations in all areas was not reported but it was described as big.
