Syrian Arab Army Advances in al-Qalamon Battle, Continues Striking Terrorist Groups Outside Lattakia, Aleppo, Hama and Idleb

PROVINCES,(ST)_A rapid progress in the ongoing al-Qalamon battle has synchronized with intensified military operations against foreign-backed terrorist groups in Lattakia countryside, reports say.

Two more areas in al-Qalamon area outside Damascus were reported became ‘safe’ after the army units imposed full control over them on Saturday. 

Flita and Ra’as al-M’arra areas near Yabroud city became under the army’s control in the wake of several military operations that resulted in eliminating many terrorists, according to a military source.

The source confirmed the continuation of military operations in al-Qalamon area to cut off terrorists’ cross-border supply routes from Lebanon, noting that the army units are making  progress in cracking down on terrorists in al-Mesherfeh town, to the north-west of Yabroud city.

Many terrorists fled to the Lebanese border town of Arsal, reports said.

A fortnight ago, the army units flushed out terrorists from Yabroud city which was the terrorists’ major stronghold in al-Qalamon area.

Heavy losses

In another development, the official news agency reported that the army units struck armed terrorist groupings in Jabal al-Koz, surrounding of point 45 and on the outskirts of Jabal al-Nisr in northern countryside of Lattakia.

The terrorist groups sustained heavy losses not only in Lattakia countryside but also in several restive areas outside Damascus, Daraa, Idleb, Aleppo and Hama provinces.

As many as 30 terrorists were killed in al-Alya farms and al-Hajjareyeh in Duma area outside Damascus, the state-run Syrian TV channel said.

Yesterday, a hideout for terrorists in Bassima town in the western countryside of Damascus was obliterated where about 12 terrorists died.

Israeli hospitals receive wounded terrorists

Around 75km to the south-west of Damascus, precisely in Quneitra province, the army units thwarted terrorists’ infiltration bids into al-Dwayeh al-Saghera town and al-Hejeh town for the second day running.

Last night, the army units chased armed terrorist groups on the outskirts of al-Dwayeh al-Saghera, al-Dwayeh al-Kobra and al-Hejeh towns, mowing down more than 60 terrorists and injuring a number of them.

The terrorists wounded in the said towns were admitted to Israeli hospitals.

In northern Aleppo province, terrorists’ infiltration attempts into safe areas of al-Hamedeyeh and al-Sayyed Ali in northern Aleppo province were foiled by the army units.

Syria is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.

The US, France, the UK, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, world media reports say.
