Syrian-Algerian talks in the People’s Assembly

On January 19th, the Syrian-Algerian Brotherhood Committee in the People’s Assembly (Parliament) discussed with the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, LahsenTohamy, the prospects for cooperation between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance them to serve the common interests.

The head and members of the committee showed appreciation for Algeria’s supportive stances for Syria, especially in its confrontation with the terrorist war, stressing the importance of strengthening economic relations and encouraging Algerian capitals to invest in Syria.

 

The head and members of the committee expressed their hope that there will be mutual parliamentary visits between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Tohamy affirmed his country’s continued support for Syria in all international forums, stressing the necessity of non-interference in its internal affairs.

The Algerian ambassador pointed to the possibility of establishing Algerian-Syrian partnerships in the textile and medicine sectors.

He stressed the readiness of Algerian companies to contribute to the rebuilding process of Syria.
