Syrian activists and journalists have their say: “No to the Israeli occupation… No to partition.”

In light of the recent Israeli escalation on Syrian territory, and the repeated attempts to divide Syria through dubious projects disguised as sectarian slogans or regional demands, a number of Syrian activists and journalists have expressed their clear and unified positions: “Rejecting Israeli bombardment, rejecting partition plans, and affirming the unity of Syria, its land and people.”

Media activist Ayham Al-Bayoush stressed in a statement that “Israel” is using the pretext of protecting certain components of the Syrian people to implement its own agenda. He affirmed that this claim is false, especially since many members of the Druze sect live peacefully in Idlib and other Syrian regions. He said: “We categorically reject the policy of partition. Syria does not belong to a ruling family, but rather to its people.”

For his part, journalist Ibrahim al-Khatib explained that Israel fears a return to stability in Syria after years of war. He explained that the occupation has sought from the beginning to prevent any real Syrian revival, and is targeting Syria today because it believes that the “New Syria” project, supported by popular will, does not serve its interests. He emphasized that all Israeli attempts will fail in the face of Syrian unity and cohesion.

Journalist Mohammed Abu al-Huda also considered the ongoing bombing of Syria, particularly the targeting of the People’s Palace, a dangerous escalation and a reflection of Israel’s intentions to destabilize and divide the country. He affirmed his confidence in the Syrian government and people, who have made enormous sacrifices and will not accept partition, no matter the cost.

Journalist Hadi al-Abdullah, for his part, pointed out that the Israeli actions in Sweida serve narrow interests and do not reflect the will of the province’s people. He noted that Sweida’s notables have declared their rejection of partition, and that the repeated bombings are merely a reaction to the success of the unified Syria project. He said, “After 14 years of sacrifice, the Syrians are prepared to offer more in defense of their homeland’s unity.”

The message of the Syrians was clear: sovereignty is a red line, occupation is unacceptable, and partition will not pass. Syria will remain united through the strength of its people and the awareness of its sons
