Syria wins WAFF Championship

For the first time in its history,the men’s national soccer team managed to clinch the WAFF Championship title after Iraq 1-0 in the final on Thursday at the Friendship and Peace Stadium in Kuwait.

Defender Ahmad Salih scored the winning goal in the last quarter of the match with a powerful header  .

Right from the beginning ,it was obviously clear that the Syrian side,under former international Husam al-Sayed,were determined to score a remarkable result to the delight of Syrian fans.

The newly formed team appeared in good shape and lived up to expectations and fulfilled what they had promised.

En route to the final,the Syrian team beat Jordan,Bahrain and Iraq.
