Syria wins gold and silver medals in West Asian Athletics Championships

Syrian athletes, Saddam Al-Names and Youssef Olabi, won the gold and silver medals, respectively, in the 10 km walk race on the first day of the West Asian Championship for young men and women under twenty years old, which is currently being held in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

In addition to the Syrian national team, teams of the Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon will participate in the tournament.
