Syria Will Rise Like a Phoenix from the Ashes: Czech Deputy Minister

  DAMASCUS, (ST)-Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Martin Tlapa has stressed that his country wants to contribute to finding a solution to the crisis in Syria and to helping the country restore security and stability as soon as possible.

He made the remarks during his visit on Wednesday to the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch and All East in the Sayyedet al-Niah Cathedral in Damascus.

“Syria will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes and will continue to contribute, as it always did, to human civilization,” Tlapa stressed.

 Father Maher Mansour of the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch and All East affirmed the importance of enhancing bilateral relations between the friendly peoples and governments of Syria and the Czech Republic and between the churches of both countries. He hailed the Czech Republic’s political support and humanitarian aid to the Syrian people to help them surpass the crisis.

Tlapa was accompanied during his visit to the patriarchate by the Czech Ambassador to Syria Eva Filipi, Head of the Middle East Department at the Czech Foreign Ministry (Pavel Kloutsi), Head of the Gulf Policy Group at the Czech foreign ministry Pavilina Shramkov,  Secretary General of the Czech Red Cross Joseph Kunichi and Director General of the Czech National Museum Michael Lukash.
