Damascus (ST),Vice-President Najah al-Attar stressed on Tuesday that Syria will not bow due to its pan-Arab stances that support resistance and combat the division schemes contrived by imperialistic powers, confirming that the spirit of resistance is still strong not only in Syria but in the conscience of the Arab people.
During the meeting held with a Russian delegation of political analysts, intellectuals and media figures, al-Attar said that the funded terrorism confronting Syria and the terrorist practices of destroying schools and hospitals and killing people under the name of religion were known from the very beginning.
“Syria is exerting its utmost in cooperation with local and international organizations to ensure citizens’ needs”, al-Attar noted, pointing out that terrorism did not suffice the guardians of the destructive plot targeting Syria as they also tended to impose an economic siege on the Syrian people which is considered a crime against humanity and stigma on the international community.
Al-Attar hailed Russia’s political and human positions in defense of the nation’s resisting the West’s attempts to exploit the international organizations to transgress against the sovereignty of countries and to legitimize wars for UN member states.
Al-Attar appreciated the Russian delegation’s effort to convey the reality of facts to the world, stressing that conveying the true image of the events in Syria in the face of the fabrication and falsification campaigns relies on the pens of truth, highlighting the deeply rooted historical, cultural and humanitarian ties between the Russian and Syrian peoples.
In a statement to the journalists following the meeting, Head of the Russian’s delegation Alexander Prokhanov, writer and editor-in-chief of Zaftra newspaper, said that the war in Syria is not one of machineguns, arms and mortars , but one of cultures, civilizations and views.
Prokhanov expressed admiration of the Syrian Army soldiers for their energy, optimism, intelligence, great experience and their determination to eliminate Syria of terrorists.
He said that the progress currently made by the Syrian Army members in various areas undermines the story which the Western international community tries to promote on the army losing firmness.
He spoke about his visit to the terrorism-stricken Daraya city in Damascus Countryside, saying “it seems as if a third world war passed over there because of the terrorist groups.”
Head of the Russian Anti-Globalization Movement, Alexander Yanov, stressed that the delegation will report what is happening on the ground in Syria to the Russian and international public opinion through media and international organizations, expressing the Russian people’s solidarity with Syria and its people.
Members of the Russian delegation asserted that their visit to Syria comes in the framework of expressing the Russian people’s support to the Syrians in confronting Syria’s challenges.
