Syria Will Continue Supporting the Palestinian People

DAMASCUS– Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad stressed that Syria will continue to stand by the brotherly Palestinian people in their struggle to regain their legitimate and inalienable historical rights, including their right of return, self-determination, and establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, SANA reported.

This came during Mikdad’s meeting on Tuesday with Abbas Zaki, member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian Fatah Movement, the General Commissioner for Arab and China Relations.

According to SANA, Mikdad said the Palestinian Cause must be central to all honorable Arabs, adding that any negligence of the Palestinian Cause and any abandonment of the Palestinians’ rights contradict the aspirations of the Arab peoples and their belief in the inevitability of the victory of the Palestinian people against the Israeli occupation.

Mikdad noted that the achievements made by the Syrian Arab Army in its war against terrorism will be of great support to the Palestinian people in their struggle to regain their legitimate rights.

For his part, Zaki said the Syrian Arab Army’s victories will determine the region’s future, stressing that Syria had become the “difficult number” in the conflict’s equation.
