Syria Welcomes Iran Nuclear Deal, Stresses It Is major Victory for Iran’s Diplomacy

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Syrian Arab Republic welcomes the historical deal signed yesterday in Vienna between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the G5+1 on the Iranian nuclear file, a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Tuesday.

“This historical achievement is a victory for Iran’s diplomcy and people and it proves the wisdom of the Iranian leadership,” the Ministry stressed.

 

 “Vienna deal asserts the importance of adopting diplomatic and political solutions for international disputes rather than threarts of aggressions and sanctions which have been targeting the Iranian people for many years aiming to deprive them from possessing knowledge and technology and from dedicating this knowledge to enhance their country’s prosperity,” the Ministry said.

In this regard, the Ministry added, “Syria reiterates the inalienable right of the countries member in the Treaty of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation to get nuclear technology and use it in peaceful purposes in accordance with the treaty’s fourth article.”

“The Syrian Arab Republic reaffirms that the deal, which was achieved thanks to the Iranian diplomacy and the support of the Iranian people, will be reflected positively on the security and stability of the region and the entire world.”
